Hopefully those awful Proterras won't be around for too long. What a terrible bus design 👎

TTC should retire them prematurely or hand them down to that small funeral home division in Etobicoke 😜

TTC wants to give you an all new electric bus garage.

They look like the 70xx hybrid cousins but this lacks the "ElectricVehicle" decal on the side. Come to think of it, the Nova vehicles from 2023 had reused the fleet numbers from the 1991 and 1996 Orion V diesels (ironically the 70xxs were originally going to be the Nova Classics) and the 1990 New Flyer D40s.

Not all of them. Since you live in Etobicoke @Genius101, Arrow's routes there are 36, 96/996 and 927. Take my word!

Based on what information, the e-buses have been constantly going in and out of service for large chunks of time since we've gotten them, how is this different?

What exactly qualifies as "inactive"? They haven't been in service in one week?

With the 6000 coming in, I would assume the TTC will get rid of the Proterras and BYD buses.

This order should replace the remaining 2nd Gen hybrids and 8100/8300 units. And probably the 8400, which I can't wait for.

Most of these buses haven't seen service for several weeks, some of them have been mia for months. Most of them are parked near the main entrance at MtD. Also, in order to keep the other units on the road, some of the buses I listed have had some of their parts harvested from them. This is coming from a very reliable source that I have.

I mentioned this in another thread the other day mass retirement of the Orion NGs and 3Gs is on the horizon. If Ebuses and hybrids are off the table what will Queensway receive to replace them? The only options are Eglinton’s 8620s or maybe McNicoll’s 9200s and 3100s.

are drivers being trained on the bus or is the xe40s from 2018 basically the same and no need for training on these busses?

That depends if there are different features on the latest buses.  Drivers from Mount Dennis who have been trained on driving  nova artic got training on 40 foot nova . 40 foot nova has a bigger tail swing on 70 foot nova
