8792
I actually rode on a new Nova for the first time yesterday. 4609. Was better than I expected. The rear row, despite no seat padding, was reasonably comfortable.

Nothing will beat the Orion VI seats... 2nd place would go to any OC bus pre 1997, but I digress... Very comfortable for what thin pieces of fabric they are.
wowzhao
Has the 2019 order (for 2020 delivery I assume) been confirmed yet? Or is it still just a line item on the budget waiting to be spent?
SDGBusFan
Last Friday July 5th I went up to Ottawa, and spotted some new Nova's on the way up! Don't know how helpful I'll be, but here goes!! Nova 4651 was spotted headed west to St. Laurent, down the off ramp on the Transit Way, and was out of service Nova 4626 was on route 232 "Queenswood Heights" and was spotted on the 417 headed east! Nova 4620 was on route 104 " Place D'Orleans" and was again, headed on the 417 headed east! Hopefully, this is helpful for spotting, but we'll see! If photos aren't that great, sorry! Taken at speed of a doorless Jeep, on my phone! Hopefully a bit helpful!

If you don't like how OC Transpo specs their buses why don't you go talk to your city councillor. Nova makes to order. And just because you or Elton (little rocket man) doesn't like the bus doesn't make it scrap. Some of us make very good salaries driving nothing but Nova. 3

The bus itself is good, seats could be better, which I will make that suggestion at the next Bay Ward Transit committee for future purchases of Nova (thanks for the suggestion). It's way better than the 97XX. I just think newer buses are much more crappy in regards to lifespan, reliability and comfort *in the context of OC* than it use to be. I don't think that would be very controversial to say.
sseguin
Personally I don’t have a big issue with any of the buses currently used. If I were to nitpick the Inveros engine rumble is very loud at the rear. Always liked the Nova LFS. Happy to see OC adding it to their fleet. It’s been around a long time and only been refined and improved on with age. Nothing is perfect but I think it’s quite good for the needs of the city. They were told that they would have a drain hole, but it was assumed they would be padded. I believe the next batch will be padded

I did also sit (initially) in the row immediately ahead of the back row and those seats were very uncomfortable. The curvature of the rear engine seats is what makes them comfortable How could the city “forget” to have padded seats? Don’t you want to attract more ridership not repel it? Sometimes I think the city have no interest whatsoever in increasing ridership with moves like this.
