  1. Cornwall Transit has programmed some new P/R codes to advertise the continuation of masks on public transit. P/R is as follows: *MASKS REQUIRED* *MASQUES OBLIGATOIRES*
  2. Stratford Transit 2283 and 2284 spotted in-transit for delivery at Petro-Canada in Summerstown, Ontario today, (Friday, March 4th, 2022) at around 07:20. Spotted with no decals, or bike racks. One was displaying McCarthy, other displaying East End on the destination sign.
  3. September Service Changes for Cornwall: Released on September 4th at 23:57, the GTFS data for Transit was updated for September service changes. These changes only affect the Business Park routes. The 71 - Express is still on hold, and the 61 - Community Service still only runs Monday to Friday. No new routes, just service updates. The conventional routes (1-4) remain the same, as do the Community Service routes. These changes will come into effect on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021. The 12 - Cornwall Business Park 2 has now been changed to the 20 - Cornwall Business Park 2. Block BUSINESSPARK2_IndustrialT1_1:1155446:1162928 (06:15 - 06:38) follows nearly the same routing as before. It follows Second Street East, then left onto Campbell, then right onto Loyalist to service Ridgewood, then left onto Education, then right onto Marleau to service Olymel, RDC and Harmony as before. Block BUSINESSPARK2_IndustrialT2_1:1162892:1162928 (14:15 - 14:45) now goes straight on Second Street East, then left onto Boundary Road to serve the High School then back to normal routing through Harmony and RDC. As before it followed the 17 - Business Park through the manufacturing sector of the Business Park. Block BUSINESSPARK2_IndustrialT2_2:1162895:1162928 (14:50 - 15:17) follows the same routing as the first block of the day. Block BUSINESSPARK2_IndustrialT1_1:1155446:1162928 (06:15 - 06:38) Block BUSINESSPARK2_IndustrialT2_3:1154890:1162928 (15:20 - 14:01) follows the same routing as before. No changes. The 12 - Cornwall Business Park 3 has new run times. Before going into detail, technically this route was run before, but was classified as the afternoon 12 - Business Park 2, instead of the midnight 12 - Business Park 3. 2 buses would run this route. The first would depart the garage at around 14:07 to arrive at Pitt & Second Industrial Stop for 14:15, and run its scheduled run. Then, at around 13:42, an extra bus would depart and arrive Pitt & Second Industrial Stop for 14:47, and would be classified as an extra and would run the 12 - Business Park 3 routing, the midnight run. At 16:00 when the afternoon 12 route ended, the first bus would depart Not In Service towards the garage, and the extra 12 bus would run as extra on the 17 - Business Park. In short, the extra bus of the 12 - Business Park 2, has now been classified and is running as the 12 - Business Park 3. Block BUSINESSPARK3_IndustrialT1_1:1162891:1162927 (14:50 - 15:17) follows the same routing as the first block of the 20 - Cornwall Business Park 2. It follows Second Street East, then left onto Campbell, then right onto Loyalist to service Ridgewood, then left onto Education, then right onto Marleau to service Olymel, RDC and Harmony, then towards Pitt & Second Industrial Stop. Block BUSINESSPARK3_IndustrialT1_2:1162918:1162927 (15:20 - 16:15) follows a similar route as before the September changes. Second Street, left onto Campbell, right onto Marleau, left onto Boundary, then left onto Industrial Park to service Olymel, right onto Optimum drive, right onto SCM towards RDC, then towards Pitt & Second Industrial Stop. Block BUSINESSPARK3_IndustrialT1_3:1162881:1162927 (16:15 - 16:43) follows the same route as the 17 block did before. Second, left onto Boundary, right onto Marleau, left onto Campbell, left onto Loyalist to service Ridgewood, the right onto Education and left onto Second. Block BUSINESSPARK3_IndustrialT2_1:1162913:1162927 (23:15 - 23:35) follows the same routing as before. Second, left on Campbell, right on Marleau, left onto Boundary, then onto Industrial to service Olymel, RDC and Harmony. The 17 - Business Park is now the 17 - Cornwall Business Park. All blocks from the AM to the PM are the same, except Block BUSINESSPARK_IndustrialT3_4:1162882:1162926 (16:15 - 16:46) This block follows nearly the same routing as the afternoon blocks, but instead of heading North on Boundary to service the High School, it loops around Ridgewood twice. From Second, left onto Campbell, right onto Loyalist to service Ridgewood, right onto Education to service Leclerc, then right onto Second. From Second, right again onto Campbell, right onto Loyalist to service Ridgewood (where it sits for 8 1/2 minutes), right onto Education to service Leclerc, then right onto Second to where it arrives at Pitt & Second at 16:46, to end Business Park service for the afternoon. There were always 3 buses running the afternoon Business Park routes. 2 on the 12-2, 1 on the 17. Then the 2 on the 17. Now, all 3 have their separate routes. To recap, the 12 - Business Park 2 is now the 20 - Cornwall Business 2. The midnight 12 - Business Park 3 now runs in the afternoon, and is now the 12 - Cornwall Business Park 3. The 17 - Business Park has the same routes, run times and stop times, but is now called the 17 - Cornwall Business Park. Destination signs remain the same. In other news, the 98's are still alive and out. Last week, at least one was out for the afternoon on the 12. The 15's seem to now be scheduled on the 17 and 12 (this was before the service changes, we will have to see what goes out. Nothing should change, but we will see this week.) with 1793, 1794 or 1895 subbing in when one is out of service. As of last week, the 98's provided service for the 12-2 and the extra afternoon run.
  4. Cornwall Transit has once again, changed the route number system on one of their routes. The old 18 - Business Park is now the 17 - Business Park. Save for the name change, everything is the same as before. Same route, same destination signs, same as before. The change came on Monday of this week, (2021-06-21). To recap, it was the 19 - Business Park before 2020-12-14, then was switched to the 18 - Business Park, along with a new route. (for further info, visit the comment posted on page 27 of the Cornwall Transit forum). Then, on Monday of this week (2021-06-21), the change came. To recap, the 18 is now the 17, with no changes. GTFS Data can be viewed here: https://openmobilitydata.org/p/cornwall-transit/1223 , for further reading.
  5. Complete license plate list and inaugural service dates for the new 2021 21xx-series Nova LFS' with Cornwall: Unit: License Plate: Date Entered into Service: 2101 - 261 1BL - Entered service on May 15th, 2021 2102 - 261 0BL - Entered service on April 30th, 2021 2103 - 660 1BL - Entered service on May 21st, 2021 2104 - 660 2BL - Entered service on April 29th, 2021 2105 - 660 3BL - Entered service on May 13th, 2021 2106 - 660 4BL - Entered service on May 11th, 2021
  6. Some updates from Cornwall and the fleet: 2101’s license plate is as follows - 261 1BL 9882 was in service on the 12 - Business Park Extra yesterday (2021-06-01) . Although a common sighting two months ago, this is an uncommon occurrence now with the older batches of LFS’ on the route and the new batches in service. The 98xx-series are now on a as-needed, spare basis. (Example 2021-06-01): 1585 on the 12, 1792 on the 18. Lastly, 1792’s driver side front panel has finally been re-wrapped. 1792 had been in an accident 3 years, was repaired and the crushed driver side panel where the mirror and small window were, was repaired and left white without a blue stripe. This made 1792 stand out from the rest of the Nova’s, as this single panel was left blank, without a stripe. This panel has now been re-wrapped, with the Cornwall dark-blue stripe, and blends in with the rest of the 15xx, 17xx, 18xx-series.
  7. 9882 was placed on the 18 - Business Park last Tuesday, May 25th. The 98's are expected to be with Cornwall for another year, but are on spare, as-needed duty.
  8. 2103 made its debut in service yesterday on the 2 - Cumberland. It has replaced 2106, then was out for a short while, till 1792 replaced it so. All of the new units have seen service and are active. Added license plates for the 21xx-series: 2105 - 660 3BL 2106 - 660 4BL
  9. 2101 made its debut in service yesterday, on the 14:45 run of the 2 - Sunrise, replacing 2104. On a side note, Cornwall has listed ALL of the 08xx-series and 09xx-series ElDorado's for auction, meaning the 98's will hold on for just a bit longer. 10. That is what was running that evening. 1585, 1586 and 1792 on the late-night 12 - Business Park 3, with 1895 on the 1 - Pitt/McConnell, 1793 on the 2 - Sunrise/Cumberland, and 1794 on the 3 - Montreal/Brookdale.
  11. 2105 made its inaugural run on the 06:15 1 - Pitt this morning, then was switched out in favor of 1792 within 4 hours of run time. Side note: 1585 was running the 18 - Business Park this morning, and is continuing its duties on the afternoon 18 - Business Park. Although not rare, it is very unusual for a Nova to be running a morning, or midday Business Park run. The last time was a Nova was running a Business Park route was Tuesday, February 9th, 2021. 1794 was placed on the 12 - Business Park. Soon to be a common sighting when the '98s and the '08/'09's are retired. The Nova's can sometimes be found on the late night Business Parks. An example being 1585, 1586 and 1792. These units were running the late night 12 - Business Park on April 19th, 2021.
  12. 1895 is now back into service, starting off on the 3 - Brookdale this morning at 06:15, and is still out in service. For anyone who is wondering what the new Nova units look like, Boyer Signs (who wraps Cornwall Transit's buses) has posted an update on them, with before and after pictures. https://www.facebook.com/boyersigns/posts/1876652889158504
  13. Just a few observational sightings on the new 21xx-series of Nova Bus LFS' with Cornwall. Starting of with drivetrain, same as the last batches. Cummins L9 with an Allison B400R. Destination signs. This series features white-LED Luminator Horizon SMT Destination Signs in the front, side and rear. This series also features the old-style drivers window, same as the 15xx, 17xx and 18xx-series orders. The steering wheel is a 3-spoke design from Nova, different from the past series of Nova's with Cornwall. Interior wise, complete revamp. The wheelchair flip-up seats are all green, and the rest are blue backing, with green middle inserts. The bike racks are the same, being a Sportworks DL2 used on all of the conventional-route buses. For the paint, more of a wrap, this series is a FULL revamp of the past schemes. The front is full blue, tapering to a line on the curbside and streetside of the bus, with a green stripe underneath, same as the 20xx-series of Arboc's. Featuring the new Cornwall Transit Way to Go logo on the rear 3/4 panel of both sides. They feature the new transmission intercooler (circular vent on the rear streetside of the unit). Cornwall Transit, and ...Way to Go are featured above the framed-windows on both sides. Rear wise, virtually the same excect for the placement of the fleet number decals. Fleet number decals are under the top vent to the left, and Cornwall Transit...Way to Go logo's are on the right. Cornwall Transit web address is placed on the top of the top vent. New vents are placed above the indicators, as standard with Nova Bus orders. The NovaBus logo is placed under the front fleet number, in a stylish grey fashion, popping nicely with the blue. License Plates are as follows. 2102 - 261 0BL 2104 - 660 2BL 2102 and 2104 have been the only two units in service, so far. (2021-05-09)
  14. It's 1175. 1175's tracker does not track to the public. Not on the 61 - Community Service East/West, nor on the 4 - Riverdale.
  15. It was more brief today. 1792 replaced 2102 at 08:15! It was brought out at the start of the day on the 1 - Pitt at 06:15.
  16. 2104 had replaced 0972 on the 1 - Pitt at 10:15, then was replaced by 1585 at 14:15.
  17. Just a few observations made on the new order of Arboc's. All are bike rack capable, with at least 2096 and 2097 bearing bike racks. 2098 has been untraceable and in Handi-Transit service, more than likely. All are gasoline engines, as standard with Arboc SOM orders 2017 and current. Along with the Arboc order, Cornwall has also picked up a new Transit Supervisor vehicle. A Ford Explorer, (or might be a 'Police Interceptor') vehicle. Same scheme as the new Arboc's with the 'Way to Go' Logo, but has Transit Supervisor along the vehicle.
  18. New Arboc Handi-Transit Buses with Cornwall: The three new Handi-Transit buses have arrived and are in-service with Transit. Numbered 2096, 2097 and 2098. An inside view of the AVL system and the buses can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/thecityofcornwall/videos/2630050743952096/ License Plates for the units are as follows: 2096 - 260 4BL 2097 - 260 5BL 2098 - 260 8BL Yesterday, (Thursday, April 1st, 2020), unit number 2097 was running the 4 - Riverdale all day.
  19. Well that's a wrap to the 14-Business Park Route! As of Monday (2020-12-14), the 14-Business Park route does not run anymore. From around Mid-September, Cornwall Transit added 2 new routes to the Business Park. 12 and 14 Business Park. 19-Business Park had already existed and was known as the Cornwall Business Park. The 12-Business Park would leave Pitt & Second Industrial Stop at 2:15, 2:50 and 3:20pm to Olymel, Olymel and Harmony and Olymel, and the 14-Business Park would leave Pitt & Second Industrial Stop at 6:15am, 3:15 and 4:15pm to Olymel and RDC, Olymel and RDC and Ridgewood. The 19-Business Park (the Original Cornwall Business Park route), left Pitt & Second Industrial Stop as follows: 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, 7:45, 8:15am and 2:15, 3:15, 3:45 and 4:15pm. For the midnight shift change, the 12-Business Park would leave Pitt & Second (Main Transfer Terminal) at 23:15. Now, as of today (2020-12-14), only the 12-Business Park and 18-Business Park remains. The 19 was changed to the 18, but stops, times and route remains the same. The only change was the route number. The 18-Business Park leaves Pitt & Second (Industrial Stop) at 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, 7:45, 8:15am and 2:15, 3:15, 3:45 and 4:15pm.The 12-Business Park now leaves Pitt & Second Industrial Stop at 6:15am, 6:45am, 2:15pm, 2:50pm, 3:20pm and leaves Pitt & Second (the Main Transfer Terminal) at 15:55 and heads West towards the Garage. For the Midnight Runs, the 12-Business Park now leaves Pitt & Second at 23:15 and arrives back at 23:45, and ends service for the night. New Destination Signs (new as in September) for the Business Park include: Business Park *flash* to Olymel, Business Park *flash* to Olymel and RDC, Business Park *flash* to Olymel and Harmony, Business Park *flash* to RDC and Harmony, Business Park *flash* to Ridgewood and Business Park *flash* to Second & Pitt. In August of this year, I encountered 0971 displaying the route ''Olymel'', with 0972 behind so with ''Cornwall *flash* Business Park). It appears at that time, 0971 was a Supplementary Route to the employee's of Olymel. As of September, the code ''Olymel'' is not used, and buses running to Olymel use the appropriate code. Before the added routes, the 19-Business Park route would display Cornwall *flash* Business Park. This code is still used, once the 12-Business Park departs Pitt & Second (Main Transfer Terminal) and heads West towards the garage, the Unit switches from Business Park *flash* to Second & Pitt to Cornwall *Flash* Business Park, and finishes route by turning Right onto York, Left onto 5th, Right onto Cumberland then signs ''Not In Service'', and then deadheads to the garage, terminating the route for the afternoon. In my personal opinion, this route was very nice to have. For a lot of the time, Cornwall Transit would have all 3 VI's on the Business Park routes, and was cool to see all of them out in service at once. Although from a Business aspect, the route was a failure. The route never seemed to have a lot of people (on average 1 to 2 getting on Pitt & Second, 4 to 5 getting off at Pitt & Second). Still, it was pretty nice to all 3 VI's out in the afternoon, and in fact you could get 2 at once (depending on allocation) at 3:15 (the 14 and 19). Units I've seen running the 14 include 9882, 9887 and 1794. In short, the 14 is now gone and the 12 has absorbed the 14, and the 19 is now the 18. Good Riddance to the 14!
  20. Sometimes yes, the VI's do go out on ''Conventional Routes''. For the most part recently, they go out on the 3 - Montreal/Brookdale when needed. I've seen 9881, 9882 and 9887 all run that route recently since the Pandemic has started. It seems when a 40ft. is needed and a Nova is unavailable, they'll take a VI off the ''Industrial Park'' Runs, and allot it onto the needed run. On Saturday's since the ''Business Park'' route does not run, they'll just put a VI on whatever run when needed as they sit idle.
  21. No, not that I know of. Some units are in worse condition than others, but still in operable condition as they all passed MOT inspection in July. Some example's include 0971, where the rear Destination Sign is inoperable and has been for over a year, as well as has some paint peeling off, covered up by spray paint (which if I might add is a brilliant solution). I personally haven't seen 0973 since mid-to-late October, so that could be an indication that that unit may indeed be in the worst condition. 0869 might be another unit that might soon be done for, as it hasn't been in service all to often, and 0869 was utilized as a cooling solution of the Care Centre Issue. (0869 can be viewed in the header picture of this article: https://www.cornwallseawaynews.com/2020/07/23/city-provides-support-to-care-home-residents/). Back onto topic, 0972 hasn't seen service all to often, so in my opinion the units that could possibly (don't take my word as this is just opinion and sightings) be retired first are, 0869, 0972 and 0973 as 0868, 0870 and 0971 have both run most recently. Again, this is all suspicion and facts. 0868 and 0870 have both run EXTRA on the 1 - Pitt last week, and 0971 just recently ran the 12-series Business Park last week, leading to my belief of the remaining units might be in the worst condition.
  22. For the most part, it is mostly an all Nova Day except the 4 - Riverdale, where 1583 runs that route. The EZ-Rider's run EXTRA's when needed. (Last week, 0868, 0971 and 0972 respectively ran EXTRA's for the 1 - Pitt on separate days). It seems when 1583 is in for maintenance, they add an EZ-Rider to that route. When the Business Park routes (usually the 12-series Business Park) needs an extra unit (VI's are unavailable), Transit adds an EZ-Rider to that route. On the whole, the EZ-Rider's appear to run as spares or on an as-needed basis when one of the units is unavailable (maintenance, etc.)
  23. Seems to be an addition to the regular service on Saturday's. Possibly ridership has risen and Cornwall Transit has ramped up service to deal with it. Yes, they are returning to normal Saturday service, as well as adding :30 minute service starting at 8:45 for the 1, 2 and 3, and an hour earlier than normal for the 4. Quoted from the website is this segment regarding the ''Temporary Route Adjustments''. Temporary Route Adjustments as of September 8: New Saturday Hours: 1) Pitt and McConnell - 8:45 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. 2) Sunrise and Cumberland - 8:45 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. 3) Brookdale and Montreal - 8:45 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. 4) Riverdale - 6:45 a.m. - 7:15 a.m. 71 Express Route temporarily cancelled 61 Community Service not offered on Saturdays (only Monday to Friday) On another note, Cornwall seems to have added another Business Park route, along with at least one new Route Destination Code. The new route in question seems to be 14 - Business Park to Olymel & RDC, as well as Second & Pitt. They've also seem to redo the Business Park by doing new routes and route listings. The 14 and 19 seems to be used for early morning Business Park routes and the midnight route, where 12 and 19 being used for the afternoon rush Business Park routes. The 19 was always run, but the 12 has seemed to be added to expand ridership to the Business Park. Two routes in the afternoon, and two in the morning. You can view the new routes on the online tracker at: www.waytogo.cornwall.ca , or as well as the Transit app. As well as the new routes, one of the new route listings is: Business Park *flash* to Ridgewood.
  24. No, they did not. Destination signs continued to show their proper route listing. No sign of COVID-19 P/R. Although there is a new destination sign listing, OLYMEL, alongside CORNWALL BUSINESS PARK.
  25. Yes, they still are. All three are expected to be around for another year.
