Stolen Photos!

I sure hope he has no more to come. I am so fucking sick and tired of this. People have no respect for the original photographers, or those of us who have enabled these images to be avalilble for all to see.

Perhaps we should just remove all out of our older photos?

I am going to think about this one for a couple of days. Getting tired of paying for website space only to have the images reposted elsewhere with or without credits removed.

Ok.. Now he/she has added MORE stolen images from busdrawings and barp and has also removed previous comments that were added to them... WTF!!! This is insulting!

That's when you fire off a email to Flickr and hopefully get his account shutdown. Preferably he's paid for the account and he loses his money, but that's wishful thinking for this fucking little troll.

Don't blame you Peter, I think your patience on this matter has been incredible, same to the Barp guys. If you take them down I will miss the sites, but if you choose to I wouldn't blame you in the slightest. I already did that last year, now my photos are so small that it would make any attempts to lift them pointless.

Update: Images still there, and he has removed comments again and I am now blocked from posting comments on his page. I am not thrilled when my images or tohers are posted on other peoples websites and all when they still at least have the photo credits on the image, but it get's personal when they post them with the credits cropped off and removed.

I put a comment on the Brantford Fishbowl, now I am also blocked from posting comments.

Check out the load of shit on his profile: Full of crap

Ahah!!! I was in the middle of commenting on all photos about the violations of Terms and Service. It said on the Flickr site you can "Report Abuse" by clicking at it at the bottom of the main page of the stolen photos. It appears that the "Flag Photo" option when view each photo individually only applies to inappropriate content rather than ripped of images!

This is very upsetting and whoever is doing this needs to be taught a lesson!!

Tried to comment on a few...then when I refreshed back to the main page of his photo collection they were deleted and the comment box was gone, a sure sign I was blocked from posting comments. Like I said in another thread, it's just a good example why I don't post my photo collection online and I am surprised some of the photographers have put up with this crap for so long.

I have filed a complaint against this person with Flickr, lets hope that something good will come out of it.

EDIT:

Got a response from Flickr, good luck guys!

Hello ,

Thank you for contacting Flickr Member Support.

The Flickr team greatly respects the intellectual property

of creators. Issues of infringement are handled for us by

the specialists within the Yahoo! Copyright Team. Please

direct the creator of the work to click on the "Copyright/IP

Policy" link that's available in the footer of every page to

reach their Yahoo! Copyright Team, where they will be able

to file a Notice of Infringement.

Thank you again for contacting us. If you have any other

questions, please feel free to reply to this email.

Regards,

Same here. I just submitted a report. I am sure that Flickr will soon wake up and smell the coffee.

Sorry I didn't realize Allen had posted as well, but if you go back and look at my last post on the previous page I have an answer from flickr about what to do.

No problem, John.

So it looks like Peter and Martin will have to file a Notice of Infringement.

It's too bad we can't report it ourselves (other than posting comments) and that it has to be done that way.

Just what I was afraid of.

This is why I don't like Flickr. The Notice of Infringement has to be filed by SNAIL MAIL. Pain in the ass.

Bottom line is, as long as this guy continues to do as he has been doing (unlike Frank Denardo who would simply remove a photo as soon as someone publicly revealed that it was stolen) he can get away with poaching whatever the hell he wants to poach.

Your support is appreciated!

I sent an email through Flickr to this guy.

"All of your images are stolen from barp.ca and busdrawings.com.

Please remove them all immdediately and without delay before we persue further action.

Your actions are very malicious and insulting as you have gone as far as stripping the watermark off so that neither the original photographer or the website gets credit.

This is further insulting as myself and the busdrawings.com webmaster have in some cases paid money to aquire these images, paid money to have the images scanned, paid money to put up these images, and spent our time doing all of this.

Unfortunately, your actions have left us discussing shutting down our websites so that we don't have to deal with people like you in the

future.

You are also a hyprocrite.

"I am a transit historian with lots of priceless photos from the 1970's and 1980's for viewing here. More to come. All were taken by me, copyright reserved."

All photos taken by you and copyright reserved? Trying to claim these are your own and then stating copyright is reserved when you are already violating copyright? Wow.

Safe to say, you are the worst photo poacher I have ever encountered.

Have a nice day."

Yes, that reminds me why I didn't go through with another issue in the past.

A lot of my images are from slides that I own... so I physically own the original image that was created.

It could be debatable if I own the copyright or not, however.

I haven't been banned... yet... from commenting so a few more comments are up.

Edit: My comments are gone and I've been blocked. Must mean he's seen my email however. No reply yet.

There's a reason why I switched from using flickr, to having my own site and adding watermarks. Only once have I had to fire off an e-mail to someone about my picture, and only once have I had to tell someone about where they got the picture. Just 12 more days...

My website is now down until further notice......

 Awww, that's a shame, but what needs to be done... after all, this guy is ignoring us and continuing to steal more photos! I see that Barp and Bus Drawings are down. Those were one of my favorite sites and it is very sad to see them being shut down because of this idiot!
