63 Ossington Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 542X set was SB at St.George at 5:30 PM on run 144.
Articulated Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 TRs tonight:5401-5406 on 142 5461-5466 on 198 5441-5446 on 143 In this order northbound at Eglinton by 5.30. At the same time a fourth train was heading south at Eglinton but I could not catch the number. 544x set was on 119 run during the midday (10:31AM Finch-bound at Union). 541x set was also out during PM rush, caught it SB at Bloor around 5:40-5:50. Didn't catch the run number. EDIT: Caught it again SB at Dundas on 138. BTW, these were my first rides in exactly 50 days... trolls.
wil9402 Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 TRs tonight:5401-5406 on 142 5461-5466 on 198 5441-5446 on 143 In this order northbound at Eglinton by 5.30. At the same time a fourth train was heading south at Eglinton but I could not catch the number. I had to let that group of three TRs pass (along with the T1 and two H5s behind them) northbound at Dundas between 5:10pm and 5:20pm. They were all packed and the platform was packed as well. There was a 3+ minute gap in front of 5401-06. IIRC though, I believe I saw 5401-06 on 143 and 5441-46 on 141.
63 Ossington Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Saw 541X twice today. NB on run 198 at SCW at 9 AM in the morning but on run 124 for the PM rush at 6 PM, seen SB at St.George.
D. DeLarge Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Saw 541X twice today....but on run 124 for the PM rush at 6 PM, seen SB at St.George. Which I was on.
Mike Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 Saw 5471-5476 running as a test train on YUS this evening around 10:30 p.m.
D. DeLarge Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 5461-5466 doing 145 this afternoon. http://www.cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php?title=I...sion_5466-a.jpg
new.flyer.408 Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 5441-5446 was running on run 144 today at around 1pm. Finch at 1:37pm
yrt+viva=1system Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Just out of curiousity, does anyone know whether the current headway (4-5mins) between trains ahead of the TR will be permanent? I'm noticing lately that this is causing more overcrowding than usual at the downtown stations during rush hour.
Joe Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 saw 3 trs in service today, still didn't get a chance to ride one...
bus_7246 Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 The 542X set was on 104 run around 11:20ish last night at Finch.
vivablue5215 Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Member yrt304 spotted 5484 at Wilson Yard this morning.
torontottc7 Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Got to ride a TR some days ago. The only problem I have is complete synchronization of the doors and chimes which probably causes the delay, because the doors have to wait until the chime completes playing before opening doors. if they could time these two items separately, I think it would be faster in terms of door opening and closing
63 Ossington Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 543X on run 199 NIS but destos in service, seen SB at Spadina Stn around 5:15 PM.

The only problem I have is complete synchronization of the doors and chimes which probably causes the delay, because the doors have to wait until the chime completes playing before opening doors. if they could time these two items separately, I think it would be faster in terms of door opening and closing I actually had the doors close on me the other day while the chimes were playing. Go figure. 541x set I think it was.
Neoupa2002 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Rode the 5411 trainset today, run 101. Doors and chimes/announcements still need sync work.
Prometheus Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 I rode 5461 this evening and it sounded like it has the first official TR flat wheel.
rocketdriver2019 Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 I rode 5461 this evening and it sounded like it has the first official TR flat wheel. Nah... 5391 had a flat when I first drove it back in May. 5421-6 was full of flats last time I rode it too.
new.flyer.408 Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 A friend of mine spotted 5391 on a flatbed this morning. It's front lights are taped up. Currently asking for more details - the photos sent to me make it look like it's in York Region heading north.

Currently asking for more details - the photos sent to me make it look like it's in York Region heading north. 5392-5 are in the yard without the end cars. I'm guessing it's finally getting sent back to Bombardier for modifications into a production model train.
wil9402 Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 Yesterday: 5411-16 on 102 during PM peak 5431-36 on 119 during AM peak and midday* 5451-56 on 132 during AM peak Today: 5451-56 on 132 again during AM Peak * - When I saw 5431-36 during AM peak 5431's run box was on and working. When I rode it during midday 5431's run box was blank. Both times it was the end car.
Enzo Aquarius Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 A friend of mine spotted 5391 on a flatbed this morning. It's front lights are taped up. Currently asking for more details - the photos sent to me make it look like it's in York Region heading north. Saw it too, sitting near the Tim Hortons/Wendys near the 407 on Keele northbound.
Archer Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Saw it too, sitting near the Tim Hortons/Wendys near the 407 on Keele northbound. Makes sense, since the 539x is sitting in the yard, visible from the mainline, and both 5391 and 5396 are missing in action.
D. DeLarge Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 I'm curious on that 5380 trainset. Anyone been by the BBD Millhaven testing area lately? Thunder Bay BBD plant?
wil9402 Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 5421-26 NIS on 198 deadheading northbound through Bloor around 8:35am this morning.
