Perhaps that refers to the old cars, which understandably will not get new rollsigns just before making their way out of commission?
-
I noticed 4406 is still on 509 in today's PM rush despite 510 being running again. Will the new cars be divided between the two routes now?
-
I took the 509 in 3 different occasions today and I was wondering why a lot of the flexity runs are short-turning at Queens Quay/Spadina. All 5 of them were in service but they were mostly empty going back and forth from Ex to Spadina.
-
Yes i was on 587 twice yesterday.

Sorry to sound repetitive, but what exactly did we do to deserve this guy..

They never seem to be out on weekends recently. I was actually wondering when they will start to do weekend service on the 7, if at all.

TTC Nova Bus Delivery & Service Tracking

9013 at Rouge Hill station late this morning, presumably training. -
I just wonder how many more times we'll see that go on and offline before an actual lrt hits the road in Toronto.

http://www.cp24.com/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20120426/120426_Subway_Closure/20120426/?hub=CP24Home On a loosely related subject, it looks like the third Bloor-Union weekend closure is going to take place right on the Doors Open weekend.
-
Actually, the crosstown website talks about 3 car trains running during rush hours.
-
Out of curiosity what kind of poles and wires will the new lrts use? Is it going to be streetcar-like poles (like those on Queen's Quay) or the heavier ones like those on some of the lrts Bombardier built in Europe (see links from Berlin and Stockholm)? http://www.bahnbilder.de/name/einzelbild/number/550836/kategorie/deutschland~strassenbahn~berlin.html http://www.bahnbilder.de/name/einzelbild/number/137961/kategorie/schweden~stadtverkehr~stockholm-nockebybanan--tvarbanan.html

I guess there are already enough announcements being played on the TRs at each and every station.

I noticed a new double faced signal has been installed on the former CN Uxbridge sub (Lincolnville GO train) just north of Lawrence. Is that related to any service expansion on that line?

Nice column on yesterday's Globe and Mail: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/an-open-letter-to-those-who-elected-rob-ford/article2380049/

Let me just say I really hope this thread will no longer be necessary by 8 tonight.

While browsing of Flickr I stumbled upon this and I thought I'd share: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trams-lisbonne/6850543059/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/fototak/6817559243/ As the caption says, 4001 and 4004 were tested on the Orbe-Chavornay local railway before being shipped to Canada. They used this line because it is DC powered, while most other lines in Switzerland are AC powered.

I particularly appreciate the improvements to the 58 "Milton" bus. http://www3.ttc.ca/Service_Advisories/Service_changes/Mar_58.jsp

Miscellaneous TTC Discussion & Questions
Prometheus replied to Orion V's topic in Greater Toronto Area
http://www3.ttc.ca/Service_Advisories/Route_diversions/Subway_Closure_March_23_26_2012.jsp Not sure whether this has been covered already or not. Is this closure about the crossover they are re-installing between Queen and King? If that is the case wouldn't it be possible to use the new crossover between College and Dundas and limit the closure to the Dundas-Union section? -
Am I the only one to whom it is unclear what is there to "save" about subways?

Rob Ford doesn't really miss a single occasion to show everyone the idiot he is. Could someone just explain me how on earth the Mississauga gas plan relates to Transit City? "Good thinking, Watson!"
-
Great column by Christopher Hume this morning: http://www.thestar.com/news/cityhallpolitics/article/1128872--hume-after-transit-vote-it-s-mayor-rob-ford-who-s-irrelevant?bn=1

Given the show I highly doubt any relevant question will come up.

Yakety Sax it is!

Thank you for the link. Does that go to your councillor based on the postal code you enter?

Hopefully common sense is going to prevail again after an almost one year and a half break.
