As for New Flyer and lithium ion batteries... well, from the Nova Bus LFSe spec sheet:
BATTERIES 4 Volvo high voltage lithium-ion batteries in parallel
    https://novabus.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/LFSe_EN_Sept2017-1.pdf

And I don't think that any battery technology is particularly harm free to the environment at this time. Some might just be a little bit less harmful.

    This is the LFS/LFXe+

    (note the "+")

Which bus, overall would be best? (I added the Gillig)

MTA buses are all over the place now. Someone saw a 2012 MCI D4500CT (#2265) on the Q46 last night and a Prevost X3-45 on the S79 +SBS+. There are also reports of EPA10 Orion VII 3G diesels running in the Bronx. Next we'll see Orion VII NG CNGs from NICE bus running on Bronx and Brooklyn routes (lol foam)!

That isn't happening - NICE can't lend busses to the MTA.

No BYD, New Flyer, or Gillig options? ? :(

BYD: Whoops! Which BYD models would work?

New Flyer: They use lithium ion batteries, which harm the enviornment when they are produced

Gillig: They make battery electric buses? Which ones?

Medium ridership + suburban probably do not belong in the same sentence as "BRT" and even "electric".

I'll post the proposal and tag you there.

And what exactly is "medium ridership"? How many people per direction per hour? Frequency?

8-10BPH on most of the routes.

This would be great. I don’t have to time to do the necessary research to produce route details

I generally don’t like to deal with pictures but since you mentioned it again, (numbered top to down on the mobile site) 2 and 3 don’t meet the quality guidelines (namely point 4). 1 and 4 look like they violate point 6 and they look kind of small in frame (point 1)but these are subjective judgements and I don’t know if looking at them on a phone is making that worse, or perhaps my standards for photos are higher than the adminstrations’ standards and 1 and 4 are indeed valid. with all that said, I’d rather leave it up to someone else to determine whether some or all meet guidelines (namely 1 and 4)

    Ok, a few more things:

    Thanks!!

Sure thing! I'll post it here when done!

Ahh ok - did not know there were photo quality requirements!

    Hi all,

A few things need to be changed.

      3. Intercampus Blue Line
      4. Intercampus Red Line
      5. Lamont Shuttle
      6. Bakers Field Shuttle (operated under contract to Academy using 2013-14 VanHool Coaches (I'll get the numbers eventually)
        1. EDIT: Here are the numbers
          1. 2013 VanHool C2045: 6405-6406

            2014 VanHool C2045: 6407-6410
          2. These are academy buses
    2. 2114-18 are NOT retired!! They are currently being used as backup units.
    3. I have pictures of 2143, 2991-2, and 2994 (uploaded here - you may also want to add this to the Academy page). Please credit me!!

@Enviro_1203 @Articulated @Gerbil @Thomasw @DavidW @TTC T6H-5307N 2252 or one of the other editors, Could one of you make these changes?

    Thanks

    @Jova42R

EDIT: 2114-18 ARE NOT USED ON THE MANHATTANVILLE SHUTTLE! They are backup units only

EDIT 2: All routes based out of Academy Hoboken Garage.

Also, @Orion6025 Thanks for editing! could you add the pictures and these edits?

Do you want route details (I could make a doc outlining them)

  8. Hi all,

After COVID-19 is over, I am probably going to take a trip to Orange County to railfan. As I have never railfanned here before, I was just wondering if any of you could answer a few of my questions?

    1. Is there a reliable/frequent bus from the Harriman Train Station to Chester, NY?
    2. Is there any mode of public transport to get to/from either Chester, NY or Salisbury Mills, NY to Iona Island
    3. How often do NS trains run on that industrial track along the OCHRT (Orange County Heritage Rail Trail)
    4. How often do CSX River Line trains run?

@GojiMet86 @Orion6025 do any of you know answers to any of these questions?

  9. Here are a few notes:

    • 2114-2118 have not been seen/tracked in a while. They may be headed to scrap
    • 2143 is now the Manhattanville bus, and tracks as 2115. It is now NOT an NYU bus, it is a columbia bus

@Orion6025 @GojiMet86 @Articulated @Cathay 888 @TTC T6H-5307N 2252 @Young or one of the other editors, could you change the status of 2143 from an NYU bus to a Columbia bus (Both operated by Academy, link here: https://cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php/Academy_Bus_Lines#Fleet_Roster)

    Thanks!

  10. Here's a Columbia Transportation thread!
