Route Details

The current routing of route 123.

This route services Shorncliffe Road and connects the Sherway Gardens shopping mall to the subway at Kipling Station. It also provides service on North Queen Street west of Shorncliffe Road, The East Mall, The West Mall south of Dundas Street West, and Brown's Line. There is one northern terminal, which is Kipling Station. Southern terminals include Long Branch Loop for 123B and 123C, and Sherway Gardens for 123D and 123F. Branch 123D only operates during the daytime on weekdays and branch 123F only operates during weekday rush hours.

  • September 7, 2004 - Branch 123C is introduced, providing weekday midday/early evening and weekend/holiday daytime service via North Queen Street and The Queensway.
  • January 2, 2005 - Route made accessible.
  • November 23, 2008 - New bi-directional service is added along North Queen Street and The Queensway. In addition, service along this stretch will be extended until 1:00am with expanded branch 123C service.
  • August 2, 2009 - Route made bike-rack equipped.
  • May 8, 2011 - Due to system-wide service cuts, service south of Sherway Gardens is removed during the midday.
  • June 22, 2014 - Branch 123 to Long Branch via East Mall has been changed to 123B due to a system-wide reorganization of route branch designations.
  • August 31, 2014 - Short turn branch 123A to Sherway Gardens is rerouted to operate via The East Mall and redesignated as branch 123D.
  • September 2, 2018 - Route is renamed from 123 Shorncliffe to 123 Sherway to more accurately reflect the character of the route. Branch 123F is introduced and provides new service on The West Mall south of Dundas Street West.

Overnight Service

Overnight service is provided by 315 Evans-Browns Line SmallAccessible.gif on Evans Avenue between The East Mall and Sherway Gardens, and Brown's Line south of Evans Avenue to Long Branch Loop. The rest of the route does not have overnight service, however, this route operates until 1:00 AM everyday.
