Route Details

This route services Markham Road and Highway 48 between Kingston Road and Major Mackenzie Drive. It also serves St. Clair Avenue East east of Warden Avenue and Kingston Road between St. Clair Avenue East and Markham Road. There is one southern terminal, which is Warden Station. Northern terminals include Centennial College for 102A, Steeles Avenue East for 102B and 102C, and Major Mackenzie Drive for 102D. Branch 102A only operates during weekdays. During the morning rush hour, 102B buses run northbound as 102C via Dynamic Drive; during the afternoon rush hour, 102B buses run southbound as 102C via Dynamic Drive.
An extra fare is required for branch 102D north of Steeles Avenue East since the bus enters York Region.

History
- September 3, 2002 - At the request of York Region Transit, new branch 102D is introduced providing weekday and Saturday service along Markham Road north of McNicoll Avenue to an off-street loop on Major Mackenzie Drive. Buses will serve Mount Joy GO Station and operate via Bur Oak Avenue, Anderson Avenue, and Castlemore Avenue in the northbound direction only.
- September 4, 2005 - Sunday and Holiday service added to branch 102D.
- December 10, 2007 - Due to the poor conditions of the off-street loop at Major Mackenzie Drive, branch 102D is cut back to Mount Joy GO Station.
- November 23, 2008 - Moved to Birchmount Division. Short turn branch 102B to Sheppard is eliminated and service now operates to McNicoll whenever the subway is open.
- June 22, 2014 - Due to a system-wide reorganization of route branch designations, branch 102 to McNicoll is redesignated 102B.
- May 10, 2015 - At the request of York Region Transit, branch 102D to Mount Joy GO Station is re-extended to Major Mackenzie Drive. Buses loop on-street via Bur Oak Avenue and Mingay Avenue. Service is removed from Castlemore Avenue and Anderson Avenue.
- October 11, 2015 - Route is added to the Ten Minute Network. Combined service south of McNicoll Avenue will operate at intervals of ten minutes or better whenever the subway is open.
- January 3, 2016 - Branch 102B extended to provide direct service to Steeles, looping clockwise via Steeles Avenue East, Tapscott Road, and Select Avenue. Branch 102C extended to Steeles, but peak-period service through the Tapscott Employment District via Dynamic Drive is maintained. As a result, ten minute all-day everyday service is extended to Steeles Avenue East.
- September 4, 2016 - The northern end looping for branch 102B is revised to loop counterclockwise via Select Avenue, Tapscott Road, and Steeles Avenue East.
- February 18, 2018 - Moved to Malvern Division.
- September 2, 2018 - Moved to Birchmount Division. Route 902 Markham Rd. Express is introduced providing supplemental express service between Warden Station and Progress Avenue/Centennial College.
- March 28, 2021 - This route was transferred to Malvern upon the opening of the brand new McNicoll Division. Branch 102B to Steeles is extended to serve the Amazon Fulfillment Centre on Passmore Road during the weekdays only. Buses will serve the Amazon cul-de-sac in the northbound direction before terminating at Steeles Avenue East.
- May 10, 2021 - Weekday daytime service on branch 102A to Progress is suspended and replaced with the reintroduction of service on express route 902.
- June 14th, 2021 - This route is now Wi-Fi enabled.
- September 7, 2021 - Daytime service on branch 102A is restored.
- September 4, 2022 - Branch 102B northern terminus routing is adjusted to operate via Tapscott Road, Passmore Avenue, and Morningside Avenue to better serve the employment area. Service on Select Avenue is discontinued.
Overnight Service
Overnight service is not provided, however, the route operates until 1:00 AM everyday.

Express service is provided by 902 Markham Rd Express between Warden Station and Steeles Avenue East.
