The Gillig Advantage Low Floor bus has a stainless steel chassis with corrosion resistance and has a patented aluminum body for weight reduction and additional corrosion resistance. The Advantage is available in 29', 35', and 40' lengths and 102" width. It can be adapted for transit, shuttle, airport, and suburban use, and is currently gaining widespread popularity among many transit agencies in the United States. This model is popularly known as the Advantage and was originally also known as the H2000LF as it was originally developed with major input from Hertz, a car rental company.

Earlier Gillig Advantages feature a smaller front windshield with a more pronounced destination sign cap. However, the front end was restyled later and the windshield enlarged.

In 2004, a Diesel Electric hybrid option was made available on the Advantage, which adds a rooftop battery unit to the rear.
