The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority or VTA is a transit operator in the San Jose and Santa Clara County, California. It was previously known as the Santa Clara County Transit District (renamed on January 1st, 1995).

  • Many units were bought by private owners and operators.
    • Some units were spotted for sale in a junk yard in Morgan Hill, CA circa 1998, but they were destroyed when the yard burned down.
    • 1 unit (converted to diesel) was bought by a private owner and converted into an RV conversion. It was spotted in Reno, NV on 8/27/2015.[8]

  • Retired in 2003.
  • 19 units (including 802 & 811) were sold to Sacramento RT in 2003. They were stored until 2015, when they were rehabbed by Siemens and put into service. They became their 300 series units.[27]
  • 29 units were sold to UTA as 1041-1069 in 2006.
