The town of Hudson has posted the proposed REM-related service changes to which the public is being consulted:

https://hudson.quebec/en/exo-proposes-a-new-bus-network-to-the-residents-of-la-presquile/

For the most part I like what is being proposed; however, I still think there should be weekend coverage on Av. Saint-Charles north of Autoroute 40 where Costco/SAQ (and all of the retail within that plaza) are located.  At the very minimum, there should be an on-demand or taxibus service on weekends.

But looking at these changes I think we'll see a different fleet dynamic for Exo Presqu'île.  It'll be the end of the coaches I'm sure.  And possible more cutaways...

1233 is officially gone

361 and 362 are both active

361 tracker not working

Just to be sure, you are talking about 361 and 362 from EXO Vallée du Richelieu? If so, it makes sense since I never see the 361 on transit tracker. I thought it was retired since it was reported to me that the drivers don't like this bus.

exo has begun to remove coaches from Le Richelain and Sud Ouest. There is a message posted on the customer notices page, and on Chrono screens. Makes it look like it's Transdev's idea.

I've regularly seen LFS on SO 28 in the past month. Especially after the ex Laurentides units arrived.

Exo is trying to gradually eliminate coaches and cutaways. The tender for the contract starting in 2024 for SOHSL (and CRC) specifies only 2 types (transit and midibuses). Oddly Ste-Julie is able to keep their coaches on the soon-to-be-truncated 600. Not sure why Transdev is doing the switch now, nothing says they should win the next contract.

Now, personally I'd hate to spend 1.5 hours to Valleyfield on these drafty 4th gen LFS with perimeter seating - oof!

Is it easier to recruit a driver for a cutaway than it is for a coach bus? With the labour shortage, maybe it is easier to recruit drivers with Class 4b licenses instead of Class 2 licensed drivers, which would explain the switch to more cutaways

Transdev does not hire people with just the 4B for their transit contracts. From what I was told, a Class 2 is required because in the event a cutaway is not available, they cannot send the driver out on an LFS or coach.

exo had said in the consultation meetings it wanted for accessible and low-floor buses instead of coaches. What I don't think they realized in many of these smaller cities, buses often pass along streets that have no sidewalks and often people are dropped off on the side of the road. the ramp becomes ineffective anyways. The only advantage is the fact they can lower the bus for the step to be less hard.

Sadly exo is inconsistent on that matter. If accessibility matters, why they renewed the exo SV 700/701 corridor with full coach instead of low floor. Also why SJ 600 would be allowed to run coach when it will serve an accessible transit location (REM Brossard).

The new network is supposed to start gradually with SO/HSL being combined (In the new tender), Roussillon and LR are being combined as soon as the REM opens and will be operated conjointly with Transco and Transdev. Both contracts expire at the same time, so they will be combined into 1 next tender.

Once the kinks are worked out in those sectors, they they will start the redesign in the eastern part of the south shore.

At least this is the way I understood it in the meetings.

CITSO fleet info

8122 and 8123 were sold last week

8000 and 8001 have no more BPA

8002 will probably be the next one

8000-8002 and 8012 I believe will go to sorel

The next ones to go are probably 823 and 817

I highly suggest getting a pic of 8002 and 823 before they go. They are the last coaches in full CITSO livery.

CITSO FLEET NEWS

8122/8123 are officially leaving for good tomorrow to Vancouver

Any idea what company in Vancouver bought it? Seems odd as there are no operators currently operating newer X3-45s.
