Where does 8059 have the sign mounted? I noticed there is a nice spot to put the sign on the black protruding beam behind the next stop sign only on 8016-8095

Yeah, that's what I thought too but I noticed the rear sign on 6055 (this post) is mounted directly from above right on the roof, so I'm not sure why that wouldn't work for all the D40LFs too.

Man a little imagination would go along way for these these mindless atomitons who are installing these signs

These 'mindless atomitons' [sic] aren't just winging it, putting stuff wherever they feel like it. The placement of all elements of the system (OrbStar, LED bar, etc) was decided in advance by the project team, and agreed to by ATU representatives for each specific model of vehicle.

Some vehicles have space or design limitations, or can't accommodate wiring in some areas. You can't just tape wires to the ceiling of the bus, there has to be a wire channel to run them in, and enough space within the channel to fit the additional wiring required. Sometimes, these issues can vary from model to model, even different within the same model of bus.

Ultimately, it's a work in progress - there'll be things that don't work and need to be moved. That's to be expected in a project of this scale I think. If concerns brought forward are legitimate, I think they'll be dealt as best they can.

I'd double check that......

Seriously. They did one install on each bus model for approval by ATU and management. They all were OK'd by both at the time. It's just a matter of not truly knowing the reaction until the buses actually hit the road in different situations with different drivers.

I'm just going off what was communicated, during the extensive discussion on the CAD/AVL system, at both of last weeks union meetings....

I gotta admit, having 7628 on my route 3 tonight was soooo peaceful! A night of no rush hour radio chatter where you can just drive is great!

That's what I love about trains, rush hour with a snow storm... no chatter on the radio, until someone calls control for a radio check. I'm glad you bus operators can now enjoy the same peace and quiet.

Drove trains last night. It was a nice lead in to tonight. Its nice being on your own right of way having little traffic there. But not having much traffic like it was tonight on bus, what a bonus!

One think i didnt mention that tallis reminded me of are the screens. You know, i really didnt notice them. Now i was sitting as straight and proper in the seat as i usually do but the fact i was sitting farther back and lower on my seat should have made it worse. But no! No problems at all!

Its strange not hearing the chatter. One complaint is with this lack of chatter operators don't know if something is happening ahead that may affect their bus. Although I admit that I don't miss the constant calls regarding the late route 100's and 300's that I have to currently listen to on radio during the PM rush.
