vivablue5215
But, for a time York U was a good spot for "fishing": A school of fish. Class is in session.
Grapejuice
On to 2326, this is a small set. It's perhaps at least a little bit of an interesting one though as on this date 2326 was given a GM plate, at least for a short time. I don't remember what bus was the donor of this GM plate, nor do I recall which bus received it after 2326. 2326 06/14/2011
Grapejuice
This next set is from a fun day. I exchanged days off with another driver to maximize my vacation time in July. I worked June 27th 2011 and the first shift was a garage to garage run on the 32C. What did I do as much as I possibly could when a garage to garage was available. Yuuup!!! Try to get a GM. I was successful and 2355 graced the customers with it's magnificence. I was also able to get quite a few posers pre and post shift. Unfortunately the destination sign was one of the many that had the 30 series routes deleted from the programing for whatever reason. I'm sure it must have been an oversight somewhere. Anyway, it was paper in the window for the 32C. 2355 06/27/2011
tomsbuspage
Speaking of Classics, have 6221 and 6223 gone off for scrap yet? I saw at least one Classic parked at Wilson when I was in Toronto in July, but it was way off in the distance so I couldn't catch any details. It's long gone now, Its either scrapped or 'chillin' at Mount Dennis.

Probably 6227, the one that hung out with H4's 5598-99 in the field for the longest time.
Grapejuice
Here's another 2355 set. This one from July 14th 2011. When was the last time you saw a GM on 162 Lawrence/Donway? Have a look here, some pre-shift photos as the 162. Then of course on to 52 Lawrence after that. 2355 07/14/2011
2822
2005 ish would of been the last time seeing a 27XX Gm on 162.
Grapejuice
Here is 2299 from October 11th of last year. Perhaps I should have waited a couple of days and post it exactly one year later... but I'm too impatient for that. I tried getting some pre-shift photos on 320 Blue Night, but I had some issues with getting the cameras settings set up right. So unfortunately even with some Photoshop trickery the colour is still not the way I would like it. I took some post shift photos as a 52C. 2299 10/11/2011

So unfortunately even with some Photoshop trickery the colour is still not the way I would like it. Well the red most certainly comes out nice and deep on the first two photos---even a slightly colorblind old fool like me can see that. Always great work! :-)

Always great work! :-) Thanks, I enjoyed taking them most of the time, if I wasn't too rushed to get to where I needed to be on time. The trouble with the red is that there was WAY too much red before I Photoshoped them. As they are now I don't mind them, but I would have liked truer colours. Grapejuice
2392 from June 30th 2011. This is one of the GMs that still had the 32 Eglinton destination still in the programing. So I took the opportunity to pose it on the way back to the garage after my shift. 2392 06/30/2011
Grapejuice
Here is 2755 shortly after it was sent to Mt. Dennis from Wilson. As you will see in the interior photos it looks like someone was cleaning it and before he/she was finished someone said leave it, this one is being retired. I really wanted to drive this one, but it was placed on the other side of the wall pretty much the moment it arrived. 2755 06/10/2011
TransitFan88
2005 ish would of been the last time seeing a 27XX Gm on 162. I recall seeing #2755 on it sometime in 2010, so it did happen as recently as 2 years and some months ago.

Downsview 108
Great idea. I'll have a go. Up until I started taking photos I... HATED ALL FISHBOWLS I thought they were... UGLY At one point I liked... the D40-88-89's more They started to grow on me when I began taking photos. Here are a few. Thought I would throw in mostly the rollsign buses since I had no idea at the time they still had any until I saw 8112 on Morningside frequently. They brought back memories of the TTC in the 80's. 1. 8051 at the garage. The driver pictured was nice enough to let me ride the deadhead back to Arrow and get some shots! (2000) 2. The old seats (2000) 3. The stick (2000) 4. 8058 outside the garage (2000) 5. 8058 inside the garage. An inspector was nice enough to give me a brief tour. Ah the days of the TTC before 'Terrorism' (2000) 6. This bus really brought back memories. It is 8111 the last GM in Toronto with a 'Water Bumper'. 8112 had one too but was retired before 1999. (1999) 7. 8086 At Kennedy Subway (1999). At the time (1999) there were 5 active 1975 fishbowls with the rollsign. 8086 (Eglinton), 8068 (Arrow), 8111 (Malvern), 8034, the last bus in Toronto with linen rollsigns (Malvern), 8058 (Malvern). Maybe more. One year before that they had 8112, 8073, 8075 and I think 8032? 8086 was with Malvern and had a malvern side rollsign but Eglinton had it until its end. 8. A shot of 8073 waiting in Malvern's old dead line (1999) to become... 9. 2151! More... 10. GM on morningside. That day in 2000, the route was 99.9% fishbowl in rush hour. Even caught 2100 on it. 11. I threw this next one in because it is the closest pic I have of my all-time favourite GM 8729. The only pic of 8729 I have was taken after they repainted (ruined) it. 8749 in the 'factory scheme'. I belive this is a harold glover shot.
Robert Lubinski
Nice pics. I think Arrow had 8051 and 8068 both in service in 1999 so that would make it six. Notice 8749 has the grey stripe on the front coming up above the bumper, which wasn't original. It was probably in a fender bender and when they repainted the front they made the grey stripe match the sides. The factory paint scheme had a really wide white stripe on the front. The factory scheme looked good until the buses started looking weary by the early '90s.

I missed the factory scheme. It looked so weird! You're right about the last dayd of thos. You should have seen 8729 in Jan 1999 with all the salt stains on it. Reminds me of some of the wack paint jobs they did on the trolleys.

Seashore_518203
To me, reminiscing about TTC new looks means maroon and cream. That might make me old but I still think it was the best paint scheme on TTC buses. Here is a selection of maroon and creme. TTC 3133 and 3721 are seen at Eglinton Station in March of 1979. TTC 7358 is seen at Westwood Mall in August of 1983 and bus 8152 is seen at Sheppard Station in May of 1982.
