Question - the wiki roster page for Regional Transit Service shows five New Flyer XD40 Xcelsiors being delivered last year. Does anyone have photos of these buses? I have a friend who drives for RGRTA and he posted some photos of these new buses. They're numbered 1291-1295. They have a Cummins ISL9 and Allison B400R. The wiki page doesn't seem right though... The ex Utah D60LF's I thought were retired. Here was a link of some pics with a few for sale... http://transitsales....floor-buses/28/. Also the years and engines always seem to be switched, AFAIK 721-739 were 2005 units. It also says the 2009 and 2011 units have an ISC engine. I thought the 500's (Gillig BRT's) had an ISL, but I wouldn't know for sure unless I would be able to see the builder's plate. Or the engine. The model years for the 1251-1283 have switched back and forth from 1999 to 2000 a few times as well. "We are very excited to build our 60' articulated Xcelsior bus for Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority. When I was there in January 2012 I rode the 24 downtown for some photos, had a D60LFR going in, which was pretty loaded after picking up the morning group of folks selling their blood at the plasma clinic, plus this was a return trip from dropping off at RIT. On the outbound it was a Gillig 40' suburban, packed with about 45 passengers heading to Marketplace Mall, the plasma clinic and other various locations. Da Roc fell pretty hard on its arse when Kodak was no longer part of the picture, today there are a lot of people struggling and for them transit is likely the only way to get around. I know in the past RGRTA-RTS was issuing notices of interest for used articulated units, so they have been needing artic buses for a while. Even with those and the D60LF though they were still having capacity problems, so they issued an RFP for used artics, and then another for new artics.
