Regarding this incident and another who was a boy leaving school it amazes me how people carelessly cross the tracks. We don't know if either was intentional but is safety a concern with the system? And considering that trains travel quite slowly I'm interested in why it didn't see someone walking along the tracks.

A tentative agreement has been reached with the Region of Waterloo and GRT. But however the union might strike on Monday according to this CTV News Kitchener story.

UPDATE: GRT employees will  be on strike as of May 1st because GRT employees rejected the offer from the region. this means conventional bus service, busPLUS or MobilityPLUS will not operate during the strike.

After reading that drivers did not even get paid until they reached their first stop. I wonder how fast the Labour board would get involved with that and how much legal trouble the region would be in for not paying employees properly.

This information is not true. The Operators are paid a 15 minute pre-trip inspection and to dead head to the first stop.

Looking at the Route 2 situation It looks like they are going to extend Route 34 to the Sunrise Center Station. Also they might add a stop on iXpress Route 204 at Highland/Path to Burnaby Crescent to provide access for transit users in the Rolling Meadows Drive area.
