Bow Valley Regional Transit Services Commission, branded as Roam, is the transit operator in Banff and Canmore, AB. At it's inception, it was Canada's first all-bio-diesel-electric-hybrid bus service. It has since acquired clean diesel buses, which run exclusively on diesel.

The service, along with its standard bus stops, features 10 specialty stops with LED displays for notification of when buses will arrive. As well, an electronic fare system issues receipts which can issue random coupons and prizes.

History

Banff Transit was rebranded as Roam on June 2, 2008 with an upgraded network, infrastructure, and new hybrid buses. On April 21, 2011, the Bow Valley Regional Transit Services Commission (BVRTSC) was established to provide regional transit within the Bow Valley area. The first regional route, connecting Banff and Canmore, began service on December 3, 2012. Local service within Canmore began operating on November 1, 2016, and seasonal shuttle service to Lake Minnewanka was added for Summer 2017.

Every Roam bus and coach sports a unique wrap featuring the animals native to the Bow Valley, the work of award-winning local photographers.
