UprisingCanadian Posted November 19, 2022 Report Posted November 19, 2022 I have spotted the BC Transit Proterra at Cullens Truck Centre, in Surrey. Amongst the Proterra were 10+ TransLink Enviro500s.

Dane Posted November 20, 2022 Report Posted November 20, 2022 Huh. A face only a mother could love. Hopefully the decals and bike rack make it look a little better. How's Edmonton's fleet been doing? Initially it seemed like the reliability rate was under 50%. 2

Busmanic92 Posted November 20, 2022 Report Posted November 20, 2022 Looks like an xcelsior (nfi) on the side. But a Nova on the front with a touch of enviro500.
Express691 Posted December 7, 2022 Report Posted December 7, 2022 Nova 9370 spotted refitted with a white destination sign - front, side, rear. 1
ThatBusGuy Posted January 13, 2023 Report Posted January 13, 2023 Hey folks! Anyone got any information about a new order of International/ElDorado shuttles? A new bus "3031" popped up in realtime briefly today in the West Kootenay system, though the bus itself currently seems to be located at a dealership in Surrey. Wondering if anyone knows any specs or number of buses in the order or anything of that sort, as the wiki doesn't seem to have any info about it yet. Thanks!

Never got fleet number but in the shop here in Victoria there's an all white Nova. I think it just got a fresh coat of paint
9924 Posted January 31, 2023 Report Posted January 31, 2023 And the next First Canada property to give strike notice is? Fraser Valley Love how Union's always use the "drivers in City "X" make so much money, so shouldn't we?" argument. All the while omitting the fact that City "X" also has higher living expenses. 1

Abbotsford has equal loving expenses to Surrey. Drivers in Surrey make nearly $10 more per hour. As well, Fraser Valley has been without a contract for three years next month. Surprised a strike notice didn't happen sooner 2

Average rent is about 20% cheaper in Abbotsford than Surrey - home prices follow a similar trend. Higher transportation costs also factor in for those who can't work near STC. Not arguing they don't deserve more money, Lord knows a lot of people do. Using an argument that clearly reflects the rise in cost of living in a particular region is logical - using the wage of another region while not detailing its cost of living is misguided. Just like Vancouver drivers saying Toronto makes more, but the cost of living in Toronto is also higher. Its all relevant. 1

Fight to bring fellow workers up, not to put aside the expectation to be paid better. Drivers earning ten bucks a hour different from you are not the enemy. The millionaires and billionaires get filthy rich off of rampant inflation are - like the people who own First. 3 1

Articulated Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 BC Transit has announced funding for the purchase of the following vehicles: 210 Light Duty buses (aka cutaways) 29 High Capacity diesel buses 10 High Capacity battery-electric buses 6 Light Duty battery-electric buses They have also announced a "component replacement initiative" focusing on 377 buses in all three categories (double decker, heavy duty, and medium duty). XN40G Posted December 27, 2023 Report Posted December 27, 2023 do you think BCT will do something similar to the purchasing 10 EX CMBC D40LF's in early 2014 by getting 2006 D40LFR and C40LFR as Spare units?

They were bus shorted and desperately needed units, CMBC had a few on hand and some retired ones so they bought D40LF. BCT owned them before so they already had the knowledge. But why would they buy more now?

What would be interesting to see is if BCT buys some of CMBC's Orion units so that they can use them to create some new routes. Maybe Squamish to West Van? Lol. Would be nice if in some alternate universe this happens. But seeing what you just said, I doubt it.
