  1. An internet friend sent me a photo of a 2020 Nova LFS on route 206, with a bilingual stop request sign in the rear (Arrêt Demandé - Next Stop) Is this a standard feature on this order?
  2. That’s a very old sign! The current 38A was the 38 before 2014, when the branches were renamed systemwide. Other than that they’re the same route.
  3. There was actually a deal made with the union, as stated in the executive committee meeting, that no fixed route service would be contracted out. Therefore, Pacific Western's contract was terminated and Voyago gradually took over all specialized and on demand service from the Region.
  4. The on-demand service does run at most times of the day when scheduled buses are not operating. Are you talking about the peak period GO connections?
  5. An individual has been struck by a train south of King City GO station, York Regional Police and GO Transit Safety are investigating. The last two northbound trains of the night have been bustituted.
  6. Durham Region Transit 5103-5105 have also appeared for sale on GovDeals. Is the region transitioning to having Voyago purchase and maintain the whole Specialized and On-demand fleet? The three minibuses up for grabs right now are all 2020 models, which is not that old even for a minibus.
  7. The former westernmost point was London until October 13, when the pilot project was cut to be replaced by VIA trains 82 and 83.
  8. W805 has been spotted in service at Bloor and Sherbourne, license plate BX24885.
  9. While I was riding the 720 today from Major Mackenzie West to VMC (I refuse to use the SmartCentres naming rights), I noticed that the driver kept having trouble getting the route name to appear on the signs. Is this a common bug with the INIT system?
  10. Not sure if this is the right place, but when travelling on the 902 and passing through Centennial College, there is no "This is an express vehicle" announcement, at least not going north.
  11. I dislike bunching, but this is a first! Was the traffic really that bad that choke points were being created?
  12. The main issue with the 100 is that it mainly served the Transitway, which was built in the Hwy 403 corridor - one of the most unwalkable locations of the city. I would also support extending the 107 to Humber College at all times, especially with Finch West LRT opening soon. It will eliminate a linear transfer to the 22, which can continue to do local service.
  13. TTC 8553 on the Greenwood Yard shuttle from Coxwell Station.
  14. At least DRT still has routes N1 and N2 going along the major corridors along with Voyago on-demand doing the rest. Perhaps Oakville could do the same on, maybe, Dundas or Trafalgar?
  15. It's interesting that they chose to use one rollsign for both Eglinton and Lansdowne routes, considering that the two systems were not connected and the buses had to be towed.
  16. No, the TTC uses Clever Devices while DRT uses Init (the same system as YRT).
  17. Some GO buses are currently using the Highway 7 west rapidway due to delays on the 407.
  18. I'll possibly be taking DRT tomorrow and have a few questions about the on-demand service. First, has the contractor changed to Via Transportation from Voyago? I've noticed that the developer of the app has changed. Does it use minivans now instead of sedans? I'll be going down Brock Road from the Highway 407 interchange (GO bus 56 stop) to Pickering GO station. DRT's website is unclear about exactly to which fixed routes you can transfer to from the on-demand vehicle. Does it need to be the closest one? Also, what is the estimated wait time for the vehicle if I book it as soon as the GO bus arrives? I do have the Uber app also available "just in case".
  19. I took the shuttle bus westbound from STC to Kennedy, and the bus lanes do seem to be doing quite well so far, although drivers are still driving slowly and it will take time for the automobile demand on Midland to reduce to the appropriate level for the new diet. However, some northbound buses do seem to be taking the old routing northbound via Midland. Is the new routing via Kennedy entering service today?
  20. I imagine that they would try to focus more on radial services with the bus network, as was recently done with route 17.
  21. It’s official, Line 3 is permanently closed. Bus lanes are under construction and will go into service on the 26th along with the new shuttle routing.
  22. Is the implication here that the unit is still allocated to Raleigh?
  23. It's mostly perfect, but they should show the time as well unless I'm not seeing it.
  24. When was this photo taken? Upon closer inspection, it seems to have been ex-MiWay 0337 leased from Mississauga Bus Group due to labour disputes with Pacific Western.
