Sound Transit 9000-9069 were 1999 Gillig Phantom 40' (C21D102N4) buses.
These are the first Gillig Phantoms delivered for use by Sound Transit, acquired by piggybacking Community Transit's Gillig order for 1999. Each bus in the series had a cost of around $291,483 1999 USD.
All of these coaches were retired from Sound Transit in 2011 and 2012. Many were sold to Ben Franklin Transit and LINK Transit. Pierce Transit purchased many of them for their reserve fleet. Those coaches were re-numbered from 90XX to 80XX. As of early 2015, 12 of those coaches (8018, 8020, 8021, 8023-8025, 8028, 8029 and 8032-8034) are wrapped with the Sound Transit livery and are used on Pierce Transit operated ST routes due to a bus shortage.
