594 Lakewood/Seattle is an express bus route operated by Sound Transit in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. This route is operated by Pierce Transit under contract[1].

This north-south express bus route runs between Seattle and Lakewood via Des Moines and Tacoma. Normal service frequencies are 30 minutes but peak hour, peak direction service is improved to 10-15 minutes.

Northbound Seattle Stops are Drop Off Only

  • SODO Busway at S Spokane St, S Lander St and S Holgate St and S Royal Brougham Way
  • 4th Ave S at S Royal Brougham Way (Stop may not be served following major events at Qwest or Safeco - board at Busway & S Royal Brougham
  • 4th Ave S at S Jackson St and S Washington St
  • 4th Ave at Cherry St, Seneca St and Union St
  • Olive Way at 6th Ave
  • Howell St at 9th Ave

Tacoma/Lakewood

  • Stewart St at 9th Ave

History

  • June 2002 - Service increased from hourly to half-hourly[2]
  • 2005 - MCI coaches introduced
  • 2006 - Midday storage program introduced to store coaches in Seattle to avoid deadheading
  • September 2008 - Service extended to Lakewood Station
