511 Ash Way/Seattle is an express bus route operated by Sound Transit in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. This route is operated by Community Transit under contract[1].

Route Details

This north-south express bus route runs between Ash Way Park & Ride and Downtown Seattle via Lynnwood. Normal service frequencies are 30 minutes but peak hour, peak direction service is improved to 15-20 minutes.

It was proposed in the 2011 Sound Transit Service Plan to combine this route with 510 Everett/Seattle into 512 Everett/Seattle to improve service efficiency[2].

History

  • September 1999 - Service introduced as peak period only route[3]
  • September 2003 - Service improved to seven days a week in both directions[3]
  • September 2009 - Midday service on weekdays improved to every 15 minutes[3]
