There is an alert out, the alert is that there is no impact to transit service.Screenshot_2024-01-03_at_11_58_50.thumb.png.6b06ad0d7d607b05dd2de989c96c4714.png

trolololol

That will change if CUPE 4500 puts up a picket line, drivers will honour the picket line & there will be a full disruption to service if there are no talks at the table

Expo/Millennium Line: Announcement for door sides has been altered, now reads “the doors on the right/left side of the train will open.”

From Toronto subway vibes to somewhat more like a JR/Japan Rail vibe 🤔

Baffling as to why the Canada Line to Waterfront from Brighouse doesn't announce "change here for train to YVR airport" at Bridgeport - kinda an important piece of info for those not from around here and even for those who are from around here.

Sounds way worse than the original

There was nothing wrong with the “doors will open on the left/right” announcement, the new announcement sounds like she’s rushing out the door information.

As for the Canada Line Bridgeport interchange announcement for Waterfront-bound trains, I believe that was an oversight on TransLink’s part as they have to pay ProTrans for every announcement they add to the Canada Line, hence why the station alert announcements are now the text-to-speech voice that can’t pronounce most of the station names correctly. They should also add an announcement for connections to Horseshoe Bay at City Centre like the Expo Line.

TransLink is more or less broke right now and probably can’t even afford to add any announcements to the Canada Line, even if they just cut & paste the southbound announcements.

RapidBus stop posts for the R6 appear to be a different square-like design compared to the triangular posts used on the R1-R5, same crappy backlit next bus displays though. I’d love to know how short people with poor eyesight are supposed to read the schedule when it’s posted behind the next bus display

I wonder if it's related to one of the FAQs on the TL R6 page, https://www.translink.ca/r6?utm_source=direct&utm_medium=shorturl&utm_campaign=r6:

Why are the real-time BPIDs not in place yet?

TransLink is currently experiencing supply chain challenges in acquiring the RapidBus poles. We anticipate that the installation and activation of the real-time BPIDs will be completed and operational by mid-2024. Temporary poles are in place in the interim.
