PNE: There are two-for-one Fridays which cap off for the first 5,000 customers.

To accommodate this, there will be four extra morning runs on the 16 PNE from about 9 until 1pm (internal memo). This results in a frequency of every 7.5 minutes.

ICYMI: TTC Line 3 Scarborough has been killed off after the derailment last July 24. This sister system of SkyTrain used modified Mark 1s.

That's really sad, but i knew the ending to that line a while ago. But thank you for sharing!

Next up. Mark 1's in Vancouver will be decommissioned over next several years. Well the first models at least but possibly ones in worst condition (not oldest).

Thanks again.

There is something happening at Hastings and Carrall that has resulted in all service in both directions being diverted to Pender for the weekend.  However, the detour issued for the 20 is very irritating.  All WB service is using Pender from Main to Homer, then returning to Hastings via Homer.  Since the 20 then immediately turns south on Richards it won't actually serve any stops on Hastings, and the stop on Richards SB between Hastings and Pender has been closed for a while due to building construction.  So the 20 could have gone straight through on Pender, and turned south on Richards without missing any additional stops.  As it stands, adding multiple needless turns in Downtown, especially with Homer St down to one lane for construction, will result in delays to the service.  The 14 and 16 also have this issue partially, since they are detoured every morning via Richards and Pender due to cruise ship traffic.  They also could have gone straight on Pender.  Even in the afternoon when they will board at the stop at Hastings by Harbor Centre, one wonders if the benefit of continuing to serve that one stop is worth the delays on the rest of the route.

This was going on right in the middle of the Friday PM rush, looks like it started at 9am

it’s supposed to last through to Monday 1pm.

I don’t think we need to report this on here. It’s only a vent cover which just needs to be put back into place. If it’s still a big concern to you call transit info & advise them of your concern. Iv’e seen this issue before & it’s nothing concerning

Abnormally scheduled track maintenance to take place tomorrow:

Quote

Expo Line Track Maintenance Sunday, Sept 17 from start of service until 6:30 PM. Trains will single-track in both directions at Main St-Science World (Board on Platform 1) & Commercial-Broadway stations (Board on Platform 3 & 5).

Additional short-turn trains will operate Commercial-Broadway to King George / Production Way, and Waterfront to Commercial-Broadway.

Please allow 15 - 20 minutes of extra travel time for Expo Line trips to, from or through Main Street-Science World - Commercial-Broadway Stations.

The Millennium Line and Canada Line are unaffected.

The word on the street I’m told is that there’s been some failure in a substation, BC Hydro is involved.

They tell people to take transit to big events/concerts. However, this is the reality of it:

Ongoing gongshow downtown as 60,000+ exit from Coldplay and Laver Cup combined, Single Lane alternating traffic on the Lions Gate adds to confusion.

Tomorrow, Arctic Monkeys takes place at the Pacific Coliseum along with day 2 of Coldplay//Laver Cup in the downtown core. If it rains tomorrow evening the Lions Gate construction is canceled. Only noting because very rarely do both stadiums downtown see sellout crowds at the exact same time (BC lions/Whitecaps do not count as most of the time the entire upper bowl is closed off).

Point is despite ridership being fairly strong for events such as these, the benefits don't usually pan out to those who need a connecting bus.
