TTC Orion VII Retirement Tracker

If you track 1329, it hasn’t tracked for weeks, but it’s still ‘active’. Parked in a corner at Mt Dennis. Another bus, 3731 (irrelevant to Orion), has been parked for months! I agree with the worry of the young enthusiasts. But this time around, the VII OG hybrids are vulnerably ‘fragile’ for lack of a better term

or using the ecology term: endangered species lol.

1023 has been retired.

I had a feeling the noise she was making midweek would be the nail on her coffin

1088, 1064 are now at North Queen

1083 & 1143 were swapped, and are back at Mt Dennis

Shouldn’t that be in the todays sightings thread?

That was my intent, but I got lost in the forums evidently.

That's fine. People can also track the active units here. We used to do that to other older vehicles such as Flyer, GM and Orion high floors even before trackers existed.

7913 is the lowest number 7900 still in revenue service according to the wiki.

Note that both these were visual sightings while driving south on Royal York, not watching some tracker.

79/80xx Updates:

Units tracking in the dead lot: 7920, 7926, 7947, 8074, 8080, 8085, 8091

- 7978 has returned to Qsy as of this past Wednesday

7978 returned to queensway bc it died

(in serious terms it was sent there to be decommissioned)

Does anyone have an idea on the status of 8080 since it hasn’t tracked in nearly 2 weeks @Downsview34.

They all had their license plates and Presto readers removed at North Queen. This is recent activity as when they first went, they had license plates (excluding 7945, 8046, 8052, and 8064).

Just an fyi, I am not able to see the numbers you posted while in dark mode. No issue as I can view it with a simple click back to bright mode, just letting you know.

I know that 8074 had its MTO renewed last month so may not mean anything if it’s in the DC. Though when I was on it recently, it had a hard downshift to first. Possible an operator signed in or something else minor.

Will the 1000-1149, 8000-8099 and maybe 7900,'s make it into 2024 and how long will they last.

There are still 165 to 170 buses left between all fleets.

I’m guessing the OG hybrids will probably be gone by late January at earliest or late February at latest, considering the speed they are retiring at. The OG hybrids may be the first to go completely because they are retiring so much faster than the 7900s and 8000s. At the same time the retirements of the OG diesels will probably speed up a lot when most of the 7000s are delivered. There’s currently 78 OG hybrids left and 90 OG diesels left

also 1021 is a unit to look out for now

I Don't think 1021 is a unit to look out for, it last reported out of MtD 7 minutes ago

7913 & 7926 are tracking in the deadlot @ Qsy, I think those are units to look out for

8080 and 7920 are no longer at the Queensway dead lot. 7920 has been on the 111 East Mall All day

Judging from where 8080 is tracking it doesn’t look too good

Also I heard that a bunch of the 7900s had their MTOs renewed (not the ones that retired at NQ) so they may be around for a while longer, so the OG hybrids may be the first to go

renewal does not mean a thing, If something fails and its deemed to expensive to fix you can count the bus retired.

It may possibly be done, transmission was slipping when I rode it in late November.

Update: 8080 has moved

7913 is one to keep an eye out for, it’s MTO is due for December and is currently tracking on the north yard wall.

8019 Is now tracking at the dead lot at Queensway so that's a unit to look out for

That was on the 30/189 yesterday night haha 😂

No need to update the forum on every bus that moves in and out of the DC, it could’ve been a simple sign-in by the operator for the heat not working or other minor issues. Rather, report it if the bus has been MIA for weeks or is on the NY wall.

And for a little tip, at Queensway the “dead lot” is referred to as the DC (Defective Corner) by technicians.

Speaking of which you know what this part of MtD is called where a lot of OG hybrids have ended up recently (I rly want to call it the Bermuda Triangle)

1054, 1066, and 1070 are currently there, with 1066 not tracking in the past day
