Transcollines

Southern MRC Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais municipalities (La Pêche, Cantley and Val-des-Monts) will organize their own transit system starting 2015, branded Transcollines, in lieue of subcontracting to the STO.

The service plan actually includes numerous routes, including service from park-'n-ride hubs to Rapibus stations, counter- and off-peak departures, cross-regional routes and taxibuses. Service is organized by route number groups :

  • 900-919 : unallocated
  • 920-929 : Chelsea / La Pêche ― Gatineau routes
  • 930-939 : Cantley ― Gatineau routes
  • 940-949 : Val-des-Monts ― Gatineau routes
  • 950-959 : unallocated
  • 960-969 : Regional routes
  • 990-999 : Taxibus routes

Unallocated decades are presumably reserved for eventual expansion to the 3 other MRC Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais constituants ― Pontiac, L'Ange-Gardien and Notre-Dame-de-la-Sallette ― although the latter, home to 772 people, is unlikely to have service in a long-term horizon.

Transcollines plans on buying 4 Vicinity midibuses and 2 cutaway minibuses, and double the number of departures vs. actual STO service.

Another new system. Cool!

I didn't see a start date (other than sometime this year). Has there been anything public about a launch date?

P.S. I wonder if this thread belongs under "National Capital Region" (which covers Ottawa and Gatineau).

Service will be progressively put in place during summer 2015, with adjustments.

While STO has regular service to Ottawa, TransCollines does not reach Ontario. Thread subtitle states "Discussion of transit in the Province of Ontario".

It is still possible to link it down from there with a post-it.

According to verbatims, yes.

The Campeau fleet for Transcollines should be, contractually, a minimum :

  • 2 LFS
  • 2 Vicinity
  • 3 Girardin G5
Wiki was duely modified.
Just saw one of the Vicinity's heading south on Autoroute next to De La Gappe Stn.

Just saw one of the Vincinity's heading south on Auturoute__ at De La Gappe Stn.

Caught up with it at Les Galeries de Hull . Turns out it was one of the Demo's

(This was around 4Pm for those interested in trying to get a photo of it)

did they purchase it or just on a short term loan until the new units arrive?

Short Term Lease, they will also have the Ex-Hoston Demos while their LFS is still on the production line. They have also purchased an Ex-La Quebecoise LFS, but I forget the # ATM.

Again info from busfan0947

Would that Lfs be a Suburban model?

Indeed it is à suburbain model that was assigned to the CIT Sorel-Varennes when LA Québécoise operated the service.

Where is the best place to get pictures of this service? I will be in Ottawa on Friday, going to try and arrive for the AM rush and want to get the most pictures of the new service as possible.

Looking for a place where the most routes arrive at as possible, there doesn't seem to be a system map on their website.

The Lfs seem to be assigned to La Pêche -> Chelsea -> Galleries du Hull route. (Arriving from the east and depart from the west).(On Blvd De La Carrière) The Cantley routes seem to be based out of Stn De La Gappe (Stops located on Rue de Turin) the rest are based out of De La Cité (Stop locations unknown) The Mini bus does the mid day round trip between La Pêche and Cantley (Via Gatineau)
