Kingston Transit 2101-2106
Kingston Transit 2101-2106 are Nova Bus LFS buses built and delivered in 2020-2021. A $47 million joint investment in active transportation in Kingston by the municipal, provincial, and federal governments was announced on August 10, 2020 [1]. These investments allowed the procurement of 6 new diesel buses, as well as two electric buses. These buses entered service in April 2021.
Unlike previous orders, these buses are numbered using their year of manufacture in the first two digits of their fleet number, then sequentially starting from 01 in the last two digits of their fleet number. Previous units were assigned a unique unit number in the last two digits of their fleet number, which resulted in them often being numbered around existing units in the fleet.
Externally, these buses feature the redesigned driver's side window, Thermo King Athenia HVAC unit, and Sportworks Apex 2 bike racks. They are otherwise identical to the previous batch.
