Kingston Transit 1901, 1920, 1922-1923, 1929, 1951
Kingston Transit 1901, 1920, 1922-1923, 1929, 1951 are Nova Bus LFS buses built and delivered in 2019. These buses were purchased through the Metrolinx Transit Procurement Initiative to replace older buses and increase service on express routes. All buses were delivered with the Mobitec ITS/Announcement system. Unit 1901 is the only local bus in this order.
These buses were delivered with the engine cooling system which debuted on the LFS CNG model, and can be identified by a large circular fan-shaped vent on the driver's side engine door panel. Additionally, they feature a new model of electronically-registering farebox, the Payment in Motion HF-1 model. A major improvement over the previously-used BEA Farebox is that this farebox can process transit cards almost instantly as opposed to taking a few seconds to validate them.
The interior of the buses is largely unchanged from previous orders. Local buses feature a partial roofline and lack a rear window, and express buses feature a full roofline, rear window, padded high-backed seats, and transparent emergency hatches.
Upon entering service, these buses replaced unit 0729. The remaining 5 buses were for expansion.
