Kingston Transit 1502
Kingston Transit 1502 is a Nova Bus LFS built and delivered in late 2015. It is Kingston Transit's first order from Nova Bus, and the first order for standard buses from a company other than New Flyer Industries since 1998. This unit was purchased through the Metrolinx Transit Procurement Initiative.
This bus features a partial roofline similar to the early LFX model buses, 4th-generation rear, and 1/3 2/3 front doors. They are also the first in the fleet to use sensor-operated rear doors instead of push- or touch-bars.
Inside, this bus features LED interior lighting, similar to the XD40s, as well as Vision seats, being the first in the fleet to have them. The rear row of seats (above the engine) is Nova's proprietary design modeled after the InSight seats. The bus features 3 blocks of side-facing seats before the rear doors. The front two are wheelchair positions, while the block behind the driver's side wheelchair position can be stowed away to allow more standee space. The ceiling layout is Nova's asymmetrical 'Smart Bus' design.
1502 may appear on all regular Kingston Transit routes. Occasionally, it may serve as a rush-hour express run.
