Kingston Transit 1253-1255
Kingston Transit 1253-1255 are 2011 model New Flyer XD40 buses. These units were the first Xcelsior buses purchased by Kingston Transit.
These buses are the first standard buses to be delivered with 4ONE Aries seats. The interior seat configuration is largely the same as previous orders, however because the fuel tank was relocated from opposite the rear doors, this area features a forward-facing row of double seats. Owing to the extra interior space in the Xcelsiors the first row of side-facing seats on the passenger side has one more seat, maintaining the 38-passenger seating capacity.
Between May 2015 and December 2016, 1255 was re-purposed as an express bus due to a fleet shortage. During this time, it wore a Kingston Express wrap. The delivery of 1683-1686 have allowed it to be converted back to a local bus.
