According to Civil Beat, Hawaii County recently received a “federal grant to purchase 55 new buses by 2024, enabling it to replace its existing fleet of 33. Jamz Posted June 20, 2022 Report Share Posted June 20, 2022 Update for Bus 132 and 134, were gonna be planned for refurbishment and run on the road on a private transit, but later was scrapped since they aren’t needed anymore and there was no use for them and so where they are? well, scrapped, for good, and since 132 ran on the roads around August 2021, they were scrapped later on the same month for no use of it. Well are you guys buying our 100s and 800s? Better call the office in advanced like now in Hawaii time, so that way we can have our buses in the mainland for the very first time! besides scrapped or shipped around Hawaii or somewhere else! Over the next three years, DTS will purchase, based on funds availability, articulated buses from Nova Bus. If not, I will let them know on the regarding false information, If you have time to try ask one of the supervisors or drivers atleast that you could confirmed this, that would be great.
