Border City Transit
18 hours ago, kaulana said: ey kids, so I started a Honolulu Fan twitter page a few months ago and yesterday was referred to a reporter who is interested in doing a story on historical vs modern Honolulu busses. Would anyone be interested in helping her with a story she's writing? Screenshot of the twitter thread below. Feel free to jump in a leave a comment if you're interested in getting involved. Aloha! Great stuff! Those Crown-Ikarus artic pics are fire. Especially love the odd lots of 40-foot buses in the background of both photos (Flxibles, GMs, first-gen Phantoms). I'd encourage the reported to register on this forum. It's a much better method to exchange detailed info rather than "sosh" posts. Surely lots of pics/stories out there about Phantoms, New Flyers and buses from even longer ago. Keep us posted from HNL! I worked on a project for TheBus/OTS a few years ago -- so it's always interesting to see how the system is evolving.

antsalapaks
901 was actually renumbered because I went to the yard yesterday and I still saw 901 bust up, covered and blacked out. I could be wrong though and I didn’t get time for a pic On 9/5/2022 at 1:00 PM, Honolulu TheBus said: I think this was a renumbered bc I was at the yard yesterday and saw a busted up hybrid bus covered up on the front but I may be wrong. Williamv
Have buses 100-131 all been retired? Haven’t seen any of them on the street or on GPS for several days. Also, with the new 4000 diesels going into service, does that signal the end of the 2003 Gillig rainbows? The 38 new buses, along with the next batch of electrics ( due next year) would be enough to replace all the 500s.

So that means the NovaBus Artics are going to Kalihi and the electrics are coming in to Kalihi? 1 minute ago, LAliving323 said: So that means the NovaBus Artics are going to Kalihi and the electrics are coming in to Kalihi?
