  1. Rode a 4-car U2, with the first car in the set being I think 2011. Also spotted one (may be the same one) later in the evening. There was also a 4-car S200 in the afternoon.
  2. I'm not sure, but I think Express691 is right, might be 417.
  3. At least three consists were out today - rode 408 inbound from Surrey Central and saw three of them during the return Waterfront-Surrey Central trip today.
  4. At least he said, "a lot of [problems]" rather than "a few"!
  5. Got a S200 (three-car) going outbound Brentwood 12:17am. It seems their aerodynamics result in a fairly distinct acoustic signature - can usually hear them coming.
  6. From the linked project page: "A suitable location has been identified for a new facility in the Stoney industrial area in north-central Calgary." So yes, but looks like you'll have to fill out the contact form if you want the actual address.
  7. There was some "mechanical" issue in the northwest Sunday late afternoon that paused train service between Crowfoot and University. Shuttle buses were supposedly put into place, and the disruption lasted only an hour or so.
  8. S200 4-car out late tonight - was at Brentwood outbound around 12:19am.
  9. Just saw a two-car Series 8 consist heading outbound from Brentwood, 11:37am. Wish I'd gotta a photo, but was using the phone for actual phone things.
  10. And yep, both "Market Mall" routes are almost next to each other (just offset by one). Here's the 53 stop:
  11. The AHS' emergency management Eldorado 10112 is in town for the Pride parade if anyone wants to go hunt it: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Crh525oW8AAMwK7.jpg:orig (Photo by Jeff Chase)
  12. Have they delayed the display of the next stop until after the train has departed the current station? That was another point of confusion I noticed.
  13. Got to catch 408 today heading to King George from Surrey Central at around 12:00, after which it immediately followed close on the heels of the previous train to Waterfront. Good ride! Attendant (not the one in the photo) was onboard, charging his phone from the box under the starboard side-facing seat next to the front window. Some pics:
  14. If you're gonna steal a bus for fun, at least go for a 40' or 60'!
  15. Got to ride Otter yesterday, which was running in between the scheduled 15-minute service provided by the Otter II and Breeze. Beaver was tied up external at the Waterfront terminal. Bonus terminal reno shot.
  16. 2402 at Brentwood just before noon today:
  17. The Buzzer's running a contest for first dibs on riding the MkIII August 18: http://buzzer.translink.ca/2016/08/be-a-mark-iii-vip-and-ride-the-new-skytrains-before-anyone-else/ Comes with a little bit of swag.
  18. A little bump with a night panning shot I took in 2014 with my then-new Lumia 930 phone:
  19. Glad you all like them! The framing options are a lot more friendly with these subjects than with "true" mass/rapid rail. Photos taken on my phone, a Lumia 950XL. Here are two videos I took while riding the museum GT6:
  20. I've gone ahead and put up my little photo doc of the Poznan trams in the Worldwide section: Enjoy!
  21. When to Poznan in July 2016 for a conference and had to document some of the trams I saw. Many of them being made by DuWag, they share some distant similarities with Calgary's U2 cars. Wiki has quite an excellent article on the history of the trams and the system: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trams_in_PoznaƄ This first batch of photos show mainly exterior shots of the older second-hand trams from West Germany (GT6 and GT8) and those from Polish firm Konstal. One of the extra activities of the conference was a chartered ride on the older trams from their museum - the interior shots in this post are from that on a GT6: (note the absence of interlock on the front door, which is opened while the tram's still moving) On weekends, they pull one of their museum pieces out for an extended tourist route - I believe I caught their oldest working unit here: And a smattering of shots of GT8s: So-called "aquarium" trams due to their appearance, this is a Konstal 105 variant: Another museum piece, a Konstal 102N: This is probably the youngest of the museum's weekend pieces - a GT6 that retired from regular revenue service only in 2014 with the classic DuWag door button used on Calgary's U2 cars: And for contrast, the system's newest addition - Polish firm Solaris's Tramino: Overall, really cool system for fanning with plenty of photographing opportunities and access, but do get there before the older ones get replaced! Feel free to ask any questions!
  22. It's happening! Future Bus Zone finally fulfills its destiny!
