Singer Gary Weaver, best known for hits “Dream Weaver” and “Love Is Alive”, has died at the age of 80.

That should be Gary Wright.  He was also the keyboardist and vocalist for Spooky Tooth, which released a number of modestly successful albums between 1969 and 1974.

Jeopardy does air during the daytime in some markets for new episodes, but most of them air during the nighttime (7 or 7:30 PM depending on network) for the revival in 1984.

Though Alex Trebek still holds the record for most episodes hosted for a single show at over 8,000 episodes. Since Jeopardy airs 230 episodes a year or technically season.

For those who didn't even mention it on this thread from this past June, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Canadian Sikh leader in the Indian-separatist Khalistan movement was gunned down to death by two masked men in British Columbia on June 18, 2023 according to Wikipedia.

As early as summer 2022, Nijjar had been alerted by Canadian Security Intelligence Service officials of a likely assassination plot against him. On June 18, 2023, Nijjar was shot and killed in his truck by two masked gunmen in the parking lot of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Investigators from RCMP's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said that two suspects, described as "heavier set males, wearing face coverings," had fled the scene on foot and likely had a vehicle waiting for them nearby. They later added there was a third suspect as well. In the aftermath of his death, certain[which?] Sikh groups alleged that Indian diplomats played a role in his assassination. As of September 2023, Canadian authorities have not arrested anyone in connection with Nijjar's murder. Nijjar's death is being investigated by the IHIT.

As confirmed yesterday on Wikipedia, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau stated that Canadian intelligence had identified a credible link between his murder and the Indian government and that he had brought this up to his counterpart Narendra Modi at the 2023 G20 New Delhi summit, calling on India to cooperate with Canada in investigating the murder. In response to the alleged killing, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly ordered the expulsion of Pavan Kumar Rai, a top Indian diplomat in Canada who headed the operations of the Research and Analysis Wing, India's external intelligence agency, in Canada. India expelled a Canadian diplomat the next day in a tit-for-tat move, and denied the claims as absurd. The investigation was said[by whom?] to have led to the suspension of talks on a Canada–India trade deal.

Conservative Party Leader and Leader of the Opposition Pierre Poilievre offered his condolences to Nijjar’s family and called the alleged connection “an affront of Canadian sovereignty”. He called upon India to be fully transparent with the Canadian authorities. However, he also implored Prime Minister Trudeau to release the evidence linking Indian agents to the killing. Poilievre referred to the killing as an ‘assasination’.
