Nope, deal fell through. A inspection found some buses' outer frames with severe corrosion.

Brad Ross said there is no such deal.

Did New York end up buying these after all?

Any idea how many KM's these buses have?

hard to say since their engines get replaced at least once or twice.

I know  that order already cancelled due to problem with the buses that could no longer to use it so MTA might need more new buses to replace this orders.

MTA will keep some of the best D60HFs, RTS' and the older VII HEV's

Are any in good enough condition for someone to buy them and use them? Other than the emissions issue.

I think it's interesting that the 50 series for its time was considered to be the first clean diesel engine. When the Orion V's arrived they were supposed to be significantly cleaner than the fishbowl and Classics.

7692 is done.  Some parts were removed and Presto readers are taken out.  7452 and another VII (7598?) are parked at the back near the tracks, facing south.

the buses uses stainless steel, they shouldn't rust in fact, I haven't seen one slow box with signs of rusts

The issues were not rust but cracks where the welds in the frame are

It is still in service. It was being towed back to Eglinton. It was on 86 this morning.

7579 and 7690 are stored at Birchmount.

On July 8th, bus 7439 was on a hoist at Eglinton.  Few days later it was placed by the fence at the north side facing west.  This bus is most likely retired because it hasn't been in service ever since.
