But... why? This isn't an epidemic yet, it's just a bunch of buses that were decommissioned because they were expensive to repair or whatever. Making a thread like this at this point in time is as ludicrous as if someone had made a CLRV/ALRV retirement thread back in 2009, after they 86'ed 4063.

For the record, i'm planning to save this thread within the next year or two with the NG hybrids slated to begin retirement next year as depicted in Steve Munro's blog post in January.

Why is there a need for a separate post tracking retirements? Especially since you're also tracking movements in this thread, based on the fact you have the buses colour-coded by division.

This just stinks of a "I want to feel important" thread. There's already too many of these small duplicate threads created in the same fashion (the LFS Delivery and LFS Movement threads being a key example, with multiple members cross-posting to both to increase their post count). How about we close this thread and consolidate all the info into the other, longer-existing thread?

And FWIW, only 1256, 1517, 1671 have been confirmed as retired. 7807 hasn't appeared as written off in an official document yet (Service Summary for example), and all of the other NG hybrids are officially still on the roster and not retired.

I think @Bus_Medic's input on the statuses of the buses in the MIA thread are as good as up to date status confirmations, compared to what looks to be a consistently out of date or incorrect service summary. 

Also, if a vehicle has their numbers and the TTC emblem scratched off, the interior looks in severe disarray, and all the seat bottoms of the vehicle have been harvested, I would consider that vehicle as good as decommissioned.

So to reiterate and confirm visual sightings of decommissioned VIIs, 1256, 1295, 1300, 1517, 1599, 1671 & 7807 are done and still around Harvey for part harvesting.

If I put this in chronogical order, it would be #1517 (2009/11-Arson), #1671 (2011-Fire), #1256 (c. 2013-fire IIRC, #7807 (2014-accident). Can you also put any more units as well to add with? The Wiki could have been updated to reflect it.

#1300, a Malvern unit was likely reported at Wilson today on the East Track per operator. 

 

#1295 was out in February, #1599 in March.

All these retirements are indefinite. Parts salvage is their current state before they are sent off to the scrapper.

From the photos I got it seems 3 retired ng hybrids have moved away from hillcrest.  They may be moved to hillcrest as they were lined up against a residential fence.

 

Edit: After talking to my source, it is confirmed they have moved the retired NG buses to Birchmount.

I guess Bmount may have some on the chopping block too. Its not like they are far apart in age. I expect some of the Dead 9400 and hybrids to be moved out from Bmount in the next two months.
