  1. Tell me about it, I've been using up boxes of tissues for weeks now! You got any more for me?
  2. I'm looking forward to how the masses here will react *if* those BYD buses happen to outperform both Proterras and New Flyers. Especially since they are apparently the worst thing that has ever happened to the TTC, even if they haven't been launched into service. Aw that's cute, dont make me tear up now.
  3. As long as the bus functions properly i'll be happy. You know, without the inferno ass heaters at the rear seats, poor air circulation/airflow, lack of rear side windows that cant open, doors that dont line up with the drivers view, protrusions out of the rear floor, etc.. a la NovaBus.
  4. There's not one point in time where that route can keep on time asides from the initial start of service. They seriously need to adjust run time and add another vehicle during peak times. They've been operating the 110C with 4 buses during the rush for more than 10 years even though demand has spiked.
  5. Glad to see that they've put this project so far down that it's going to be the dead of winter while the partial reconstruction happens. Make no mistake, the 110 is going to be severely screwed to say the least. Add the Six Point reconstruction and the never ending construction they're doing on Bloor west of Islington for who knows what and it's just the perfect disaster.
  6. Doug Ford played himself, congrats to him
  7. That proposed 58 bus service really should be expanded west along Dixon/Lawrence. As currently proposed it would have very limited effectiveness. They have the right train of thought so far with the base structure of the route, but they need to expand it to provide a more effective service. This would provide an alternative for those who live in the northwest end of the city who have to rely on the useless 52 Lawrence West bus (one of the worst routes in the city).
  8. I dont see why they couldn't keep 2 ALRVs for spare parts. It's not like they're going to be running out of yard space anytime soon so it wouldnt really cost them.
  9. About time the HSR started using some common sense. Opting out of Metrolinx' procurement program is something they should have done years ago, hopefully they actually have the cajones to do it.
  10. Another pic of 1069 on the 50 yesterday for the fannys and foamers. I cant lie though, I was foaming all over the mouth as well so now i know that feeling:
  11. About damn time. I was wondering if they were waiting for 50+ people to get killed before someone finally opened their damn mouths and demand for change. Hopefully our idiotic provincial government will decide to show some common sense for once in their life.
  12. There's nothing inherently wrong with ICTS per se. The only thing wrong here is that the SRT is on it's last legs and past its lifespan, with no realistic plan for the implementation of its replacement in the foreseeable future.
  13. Nothing really, the weather has started to cool off so they started to remove them since the A/C wont be in operation nearly as much as in the summer months
  14. Maybe it is, maybe it isnt. It depends on what you see and who you ask. I've seen people raise the issue over various forms of social media, thank me when I prop open the top hatch because they're hot as hell, yell at drivers for not turning on the A/C, etc... Again, it depends on who/what you listen to. I dont hold the metrics on all the complaints that the TTC gets so I dont know how big/small the issue is, but from everything i've been hearing throughout this experiment, it leads me to believe it's a big enough issue.
  15. I dont know if you guys are hard headed today or something. Again, I know why the windows are shut, I am speaking about the general public who still dont know why the windows are screwed shut. If there have been hundreds of people asking the TTC why the windows have been screwed shut, clearly they have not been communicating the reasoning.
  16. Good point I didnt connect the dots there. I wonder what's with the constant signal issues along that stretch. Whatever it is, they really need to figure it out because it's gotten out of hand. It's almost an every other day issue at this point.
  17. I'm sorry are you in the TTC's PR/Communications department? Obviously i'm smart enough to realize you work for the TTC. I'm speaking for the general public here who still dont have the answers, not myself explicitly (who got the answer and knows about the issue). Do you think all of the general public is a part of this limited membership board? Didn't think so. Fine by me if you dont want to answer my questions and are "done with me", I didnt obligate you at any point to do so. Hell I didnt obligate you to feel the need to respond to a statement (ie: not a question) on this topic today and work yourself up over it, so dont start overheating over nothing. Take a chill pill, who got you all worked up at the job today.
  18. A solid reason from the TTC directly. Last I checked it wasnt your job to convey that information but you chose to do so. Just because I know that information now (yes because of you) there are thousands of riders who still have no idea why the windows were screwed shut all of a sudden. There are people who's sole/major responsibility is to convey that information out to the public, but yet they have failed to do so. The reason why many people are frustrated with the TTC is because of their pathetic communication and failure to convey information to the public. Here's yet another example of just that.
  19. Being the CEO, he has the ultimate rubber stamp over all major decisions at the TTC. If he said no, the project would've been stopped. No if, ands, or buts. I have yet to hear one solid explanation behind the rational of screwing the windows shut. There have been tons of complaints about it, and as CEO he could have either directed the communications dept or better yet, come out himself (via one of numerous communication means) with the reasoning as to why they went ahead with the decision. This is just basic business 101, it doesnt take a Harvard business executive grad to figure this stuff out.
  20. ^By far the most idiotic policy instituted by the TTC in the decade. Rick Leary is so much dumber than I thought. On a side note what's with the external speakers that have been installed on the T1s, did they get them from Dollarama? They haven't even been active for 1 month and half of them already sound muffled.
  21. A Toronto Rocket (didnt catch the number) was running on the Bloor-Danforth Line during the afternoon rush today. No idea what the reason behind that was however.
  22. An 83XX was on the 110C earlier yesterday morning around 6am. Definitely mustve been a one and done trip.
  23. ^Also nice to see through that video how dumb and completely oblivious people are when there is a hulking mass ready to obliterate them while seemingly being completely unaware.
  24. We're talking about a bus loop here; we've seen same the same kind of non-sense with the Royal York bus roadway reconstruction which nearly took the same amount of time as this one will take. In Royal York's case, it makes more sense because they had to incorporate the elevator structure into the existing framework of the station. But in the case with Don Mills it is not as complex of a project as what you're letting on. What i'm suspecting is that they're stretching out the cost of the project for as long as possible for whatever reason (be that limited cash flow, to reduce total expenditures, etc...). There's no way in hell that this is complex to the point that it should take nearly 2 years to complete.
