  1. Thanks for the update, is this year going to be last year for Calgary's Fishbowl like TTC? Luckily I still saw a lot of GM active during my June visit to Calgary :-)
  2. i thought they have placed the order already but just working on the specification right now............i am really curious to know how further "lower" can the bus be............the ADL Enviro 500 currently operating in Canada is already lower than those running in Hong Kong and England already..........their's one are 4.35m in height while the ones here are 4.3m.................well they try to lower it to 4m like the double deckers running in GermanY? o nice i never know GO Transit has ordered a further 20 of them, NICE can't wait to see them!!!
  3. I can't agree no more, how can they "design" such a horrible scheme? it's just like the kids putting on stickers on their hot wheels and that's it......holy smoke i rather them keeping the bus ALL WHITE like most of the CIT systems did...............that scheme can't be worse.......!
  4. can anyone provide the exact location of its sitting place for me? Thank you

  11. i can't imagine there are that many people interested in HK buses here, amazing seems i should pull some of my photos on HK buses taken back in mid 90s up here~~
  12. thanks adrian for linking that article here o shit that thing looks so crap.........hope that won't come to ontario........stay in BC plz!!!!!
  13. Seems the Chinese made prototype(30ft) for BC Transit should arrive anytime now......anyone has news on that? Apparantly, many chinese buses are exported to different part of the world in the past few years, i really wonder how's their quality comparing to buses made in N.A., Europe, or even Japanese product......
  14. THanks for the great list, do you have the original identity of the following ST Levis #, if any of them ever exist: #9048 #9054 to 58 #8866 #??73 to ??82 These are the # that's missing on my photo list, i wonder if they are being used or just being skipped, thanks~~
  15. I am pretty sure they are all dead since i was being told by the only driver for Deep River run that the only reason they are keeping the fishbowl is that the entrance for deep river garage is not big enough for the coaches to get in(which the GM couldn't be replaced by the coach like the Pembroke run), but as the ridership is decreasing as more and more AECL staffs have their own transportation, i am pretty sure that Thom is using something smaller than Fishbowl(probably cutaway vans) for the deep river run. I recall Transport Thom has a number of cutaway vans assigned to Pembroke facility which one of them is a back-up unit for Pembroke Transit(which the ex-STM classics are lone gone too), I can quite sure that's the bus used for AECL Deep River run right now and replace the fishbowls except photos, attached photos show the "remaining items" i can get from the retired fibhowls off AECL's ANTIQUE fleet before, enjoy~
  16. I am still heading to drummondville on my way up to Quebec City, wouldn't mind taking photos of those CUTE-a-way van in CTD scheme...........no hurt for me~~~ yes that's being translated from a online web translator which gives pretty poor translation, but good enough translation anyway
  17. "MUST BE" HYDROGEN bus i like that hahhahahaha anyway hopefully i have chance to drop by BC next year for them, as I don't expect this "new technology" stuffs would last for few years before they are converted back to diesel or what-so-ever.
  18. i am planning a trip up Quebec this weekend and originally plan to drop by Drummondville, but seems all their good old days with Orions running in town are all gone..............MISS the ontario made Orion!!! article regarding to their "NEW" buses...........nice vans!!!!!!! another CUTAWAY town OMG!!!! At last but not the least there is a new contractor which gives the city some new equipment for their bus fleet (note that this is not a new "NEWS" anyway, it's back to Sep so that's mean the orions are gone for at least a month or two) http://www.cyberpresse.ca/la-tribune/centr...t-apprecies.php For English only reader like me, i have translated it into English and the article is as follow: It is that, after having requested three local, expert companies as regards public transport, in order to formulate offers for new a five year old contract, the municipal authorities chose the low tenderer, that is to say the company Multi Transport, putting fine at the partnership with the Bourgeois company, which went back to 1985. The latter did not have of another choice to thank its 12 drivers, of which only one or two were re-employed by Multi Transport, a company of the Rainville family, which was created expressly to tender. The contract is of a sum of a little less than 1,3 million $ on an annual basis. For public transport, the City was not obliged to go in public invitation to tender, explains Steven Watkins, directing general assistant. “After having spent one year to prepare the specifications, we contacted three firms drummondvilloises able to meet our needs: Bourgois, Multi Transport and the Buses Acrobat. One of our criteria was the obligation to buy the new buses at Girardin, a company of on our premises specialized in the field. Our specifications were connected to the size of the vehicle, the number of head offices etc “Our customers have only good comments for these six new buses at the cost of 110.000 $ each one. The conditioned air, that one did not have front, was particularly appreciated, just as the comfort and the reduction of the noise. The vehicles are also more ecological and less consuming gasoline”, put forward Mr. Watkins. The Rainville family, already known in Drummondville to provide the service of Central taxi and the service of Taxibus, created the company Multi Transport to be able to tender in due form. At Middle-class man, the comment was in short. “We are enormously disappointed, affirmed one of the leaders Jocelyn Bourgeois. We were partners of the City since 1985 and, even front, it was we who offered the service of public transport. In five years, one will see whether we will be still a tenderer.”
  19. Thanks for sharing all the nice shots!!!
  20. so who wins the bid for 40ft/30ft for the upcoming 2010 joint ubs procurement? is it out yet?
  21. Just wondering where do YRT park their retired buses right now? I drop by the yard at Keele/Bowes Road(just north of HWY 407) where all the retired Ex-GO transit Orion 1s(87XX) were sitting before, but all of them were gone. Moreover, anyone know where is 7526 now? Thx
  22. Have all the 1998 C40LF(except 6 of them) being dieselized already? HOw many of them still sitting at Port Kells? Moreover, where is the exact location of that yard?

  24. WELCOME TO TORONTO Alex, too bad I am out of town by then or i can be your tour guide for the Fishbowls in town For the TTC fishbowls that you want to hunt down, best places are: --Downsview Station --York University --Lawrence West Since most of the remaining fishbowls are based at Mount Dennis & Wilson Division which serves the west end of the city, I would stick to the west end area for them, good luck as you will still see a good number of them during the rush hour!!!
