60 Osoyoos/Kelowna was a Health Connections route operated by South Okanagan-Similkameen Transit System in Kelowna, Oliver, Osoyoos, and Penticton, BC.

Route Description

Route 60 operated along Highway 97 from Osoyoos to Orchard Park Shopping Centre in Kelowna; additional stops were available in Oliver, Okanagan Falls, Kaleden, Penticton, Summerland, and West Kelowna, with on-request service available to Kelowna Airport. It operated one trip in each direction on Mondays. Buses for route 60 were based out of Osoyoos.

As a Health Connection route, reservations were required to ride the service, and priority was given to patients heading to medical appointments; non-medical passengers would be permitted if extra space was available.

History

  • July 1, 2017: South Okanagan Transit System is amalgamated into South Okanagan-Similkameen Transit System; Health Connections route to Kelowna is renumbered to route 60.
  • September 3, 2019: Route is discontinued; service between Osoyoos and Penticton is replaced by upgraded service on route 40, and service between Penticton and Kelowna is replaced by new route 70, which operates multiple trips per day.[1]
