Williams Lake Transit System

Williams Lake Transit System serves the city of Williams Lake. Planning, administration support, and fleet vehicles are provided by BC Transit, working with the City of Williams Lake, Cariboo Regional District, and the T’exelcemc First Nation, and Interior Health. Operation of service is contracted to the Laker's Go-Bus Society, who have operated the system since beginning of service in 1982..


History

  • January 1, 1982 System begins operation as Williams Lake Paratransit System.
  • 2000s System rebranded as Williams Lake Transit System. System continues to operate under BC Transit's Paratransit program, but system is is fully promoted and supported on BC Transit web site, and local door to door accessible service can now be branded as HandyDART.
  • 2010s Health Connections Service added to Kamloops in co-operation with Interior Health.
