GM Fishbowl Tracking Thread

Too bad all of them are school routes. Nearly a month in Calgary, only TWO Fishbowls on a regular route (142 Panorama) that I've seen, and it was the day of that gas leak on 7th and also not going to the NW. There was also 1046 on the 305

The month, I've seen them on some on the express routes going up Centre Street (62/64/109/142), as those runs still seem to get Fishbowls. Haven't really kept track of which ones are on those runs, but there's definitely been a couple a day, and I remember 1046 was on the 62 the week before we took it out on charter. But definitely not as common as most of the routes with the Fishbowls are getting 7500's and 7600's (especially the 179's and the single 101 run out of SG).

Are you sure you remember? I drive the 10 every weekday currently. (Except Holidays)

I remember it being around at Dalhousie when I was there now that I think of it. I'm back home though (Winnipeg), so I wont be seeing any more Calgary buses until either 2012 Nova's run down Portage Avenue on their way or I come back!

After a check around SG, I found the following Fishbowls now retired and waiting to be prepped for scrapping or already ready to be hauled away for scrap. These are units that I did not have listed as retired for scrap previously: 883, 889, 897, 919, 921, 943, 988, 1060, 1081, 1083.

Parked on lane #'s 29-32 were the following Fishbowls ready to go were as follows (34 Fishbowls) : 873, 874, 886, 902, 910, 912, 916, 928, 934, 945, 961, 970, 973, 974, 977, 992, 1002, 1010, 1014, 1043, 1046, 1059, 1065, 1069, 1085, 1089, 1113, 1120, 1121, 1134, 1148, 1151, 1156.

Inside the shop for mechanical work was #1099.

Parked at north fence possibly waiting for time in the shop were #'s 914, 922, 1094.

With those above notes, 34 Fishbowls are ready to go for Monday morning, one is in the shop for mechanical work and 3 more are parked at the north fence possibly waiting for shop time as well.

Fishbowls parked around the east wall and south fence: 938, 950, 980, 987, 1001, 1057, 1072, 1077, 1097, 1115, 1130.

Missing in action Fishbowls (I am assuming these have been sent off for scrap or have been sold) - 907, 917, 953, 1053, 1063, 1147, 1151, 1154. #'s 1063, 1147, 1151, 1154 are the only ones that surprise me a bit as I last knew these ones as active units, so if anyone have seen these 3 Fishbowls recently, please post your spottings if possible as it would be greatly appreciated. The other 4 were units that had already been parked for some time so I would not be surprised if these have been sent off for scrap.

Tracking list in this post: http://www.cptdb.ca/index.php?s=&showt...st&p=513456 has now been updated to my latest notes. If anyone sees any errors, please do let me know either here or via a private message. Thanks.

Hey Peter,

Thanks for all the great information. It is always appreciated. One possible mistake I noticed is 1051 is shown on the "active status" but on your post above it is not shown anywhere. Also, you show 1151 as active and missing. Just curious!

Cheers!

Bob

I believe 1051 is long gone... I don't have it on my list from last Friday when I did my walk around at the garage That would explain why the count of the 1980 GM's being active didn't add up between my two lists! Also, according to my notes from Friday, 1151 is still active. I will fix up the list when I get a chance.

Heard 1051 on the radio yesterday evening! She's still alive!! Will update the tracking list soon.

Also, I found 1063 parked at AG when I went for my signup this morning. I have now edited the Tracking list and with this, I show at least 39 active Fishbowls. Will hopefully do another check this coming Friday to see what else I find.

1147 was on the SG run of the 101 yesterday afternoon, so it's still kicking around. Nice to see a Fishbowl on the route again, even though it was running about 15 minutes late with everything that was happening downtown yesterday.

I saw 1147 yesterday as well, but I didn't catch what route it was on. Thanks!

List moved from page 4 of this thread:

Note: This list will be run as of 2011 spottings.

Yes I know about the 2011 spottings listing, but I am starting this thread and will run this one pretty much the same way we do with the shuttle threads.

If the bus has been spotted in service since the start of this thread and it is listed in this list as active, then there is no point in posting it again unless something special needs to be said about a particular unit. Thanks! Also, please do not quote this list.
