went to the display today... they were handing out a 1999 or 2000 series D40LF (although the model wasn't accurate) paper bus model... but I didn't take those... rather I was fiddling around with the destination signs with a few other people. The Luminator displays were fun to play with, although we had to guess some of the codes for other garages. The Highway 99 is CLOSED from Furry Creek to Squamish due to massive rock slide north of Porteau Cove, and is expected to be closed for 5 days. Alternate routes are by air service, boat charter, or driving via Highway 1, Highway 12, and Highway 99. Ferry service is being studied from emergency ramp at Porteau Cove, but boat ramp at Darrell Bay requires repairs before service is started. ******************************************************************************** Surprisingly, Olympic organizers have no backup plan if the highway is closed when the 2010 Winter Olympics occurs.
