  1. hmm... with lane control signals (i.e. on Lions Gate Bridge + Massey Tunnel)? I guess that will be a must to prevent people from using the lane when the train comes along. - Allan Kuan
  2. Not sure. The problem is, they, the BC government, and translink tend to be tight-lipped about future plans for 2010 and beyond. - Allan Kuan
  3. The bus stop signs are up on Knight + 33rd Avenue... now all we need is a bus on the 33. - Allan Kuan
  4. reminds me... when i was in surrey i also saw an odd bus with 4 handicap symbols at the back - Allan Kuan
  5. V7280 was seen deep in STC territory (Langley) a number of days ago. Someone please update the Wiki... the new bike racks i believe have propagated to all the restyled buses, and 2242 i heard has come home and back in service. - Allan Kuan
  6. well doesn't the WCE run in on track with the same designation? I do know that there are more sidings and multiple-tracked sections there though. - Allan Kuan
  7. sad... and they said that they would use the railway... now to do something else... >.> it's like having a hidden agenda or something... then again it's probably their unpreparedness... >.< oh well. - Allan Kuan
  8. err i thought that was taken already xD remember... the New Flyers and that sole 1998 LFS are in that range... so next year will be interesting =P - Allan Kuan
  9. i thought they could use it again after so many years? did that not expire yet? I guess they may redo the prefixes in this fashion: 9xx = 9x0x 7xx = 07xx 8xx = 08xx but it's only a guess... dunno what they would do in the end... and what happened to the WVMT (West Vancouver Municipal Transit) 2007 + 2008 Novabus LFS photos on the Trans-Vancouver gallery? - Allan Kuan
  10. Community shuttles 336 to 345 were seen whizzing past main on 41st avenue yesterday afternoon. - Allan Kuan
  11. lol... oh yea... how did i forget about that lost lagoon code? =P - Allan Kuan
  12. went to the display today... they were handing out a 1999 or 2000 series D40LF (although the model wasn't accurate) paper bus model... but I didn't take those... rather I was fiddling around with the destination signs with a few other people. The Luminator displays were fun to play with, although we had to guess some of the codes for other garages. There were some neat findings, including: 425 Richmond Centre (defunct) 100 Airport Shuttle 99 to Granville B-Line 50 Gastown West Coast Express - WCE Trainbus 22 Knight Industrial 9 PNE Express via Broadway Test Pattern (!#%) - Allan Kuan
  13. lol... sorry edmonton... but your council decided to remove the trolleys... >.< hmm... might visit at stanley park or something... - Allan Kuan
  14. 801 + 802 i believe. which leads into an interesting issue... what's going to happen if they bought buses in 2009? They are already using the 9xx prefix (for the 90s)...are they going to use the 09x prefix instead? because that seems quite inconsistent with the prefixes already used (7xx for 2007 and 8xx for 2008). - Allan Kuan
  15. Yesterday, while riding on 501, I saw 5 double-deckers and a few shuttles at this industrial building in Port Kells. - Allan Kuan
  16. hmm... did they say that TransLink was going to take over Abbotsford and Mission in the near future under the TransLink restructuring plan from the province? - Allan Kuan
  17. it might confuse people already using the current route if they do... so they may just keep it... but not sure... Is there anything else that they might want to introduce as well? They usually do a lot of improvements when September comes. - Allan Kuan
  18. The Highway 99 is CLOSED from Furry Creek to Squamish due to massive rock slide north of Porteau Cove, and is expected to be closed for 5 days. Alternate routes are by air service, boat charter, or driving via Highway 1, Highway 12, and Highway 99. Ferry service is being studied from emergency ramp at Porteau Cove, but boat ramp at Darrell Bay requires repairs before service is started. ******************************************************************************** Surprisingly, Olympic organizers have no backup plan if the highway is closed when the 2010 Winter Olympics occurs. I guess they didn't realize back then that their 600-million dollar improvements can still fall victim to nature's unpredictability. - Allan Kuan
  19. now that is odd =O wonder how many other buses get sent randomly for testing then... =O - Allan Kuan
  20. I'm guessing people will prefer option one for frequent service. - Allan Kuan
  21. it got moved a few metres east for unknown reasons. as well, most of you should know by now that they are installing new trolley wires on Marine up to Main... Some of them appear to be leaning already however. - Allan Kuan
  22. Multiple Vancouver-based Novabuses have also started "talking" and blinking =P However, it appears that they only cover up the front "next stop" light, as I do see it illuminated when the cord gets pulled. - Allan Kuan
  23. The ex-TransLink MCIs still look like oddballs in the fleet due to their non-matching paint schemes in comparison to the rest of the fleet. As well, I wonder what the antennas on the top of the Axion-fitted MCIs are for? - Allan Kuan
