Tacoma Link is the only service operated by Sound Transit. It opened in 2006 with six stations and is 1.6 miles long and is completely in the city of Tacoma. Tacoma Link is free to ride.
Sound Transit refers to Tacoma Link as the Orange Line.
Route details
This line travels solely in Tacoma between Tacoma Dome Station and Theater District Station.

Extension
Tacoma Link currently has a planned extension to Tacoma Community College.
The current Theater Station will be demolished and renamed Old City Hall, and Commerce St/South 11th will be renamed to Theater District.

- 2003 - Service starts on first Link light rail route.
- September 21, 2019 - Tacoma Link renamed Orange Line.

Vehicles
The rail cars are stored in a maintenance site near Tacoma Dome Station. The route uses Skoda 10 T numbered 1001-1003. Sound Transit has purchased 5 Brookville Liberty Streetcars for the extension.
