captaintrolley
Supper consisted of a salad, a cup of soup and half of a savory mushroom flatbread from Cobs Bakery. Will have a home made green smoothie later for dessert.
Wayside Observer
Perched kind of precariously before being taken outside to be eaten is a plate of sweet potatoes, broccoli, and half a rack of side ribs that were falling apart under their own weight after 5.5 hours in the smoker. There wasn’t much charcoal left burning in the bottom of the smoker at the end. Yum, yum. If ribfests are another victim of the summer of 2020, there’s no problem...

Wayside Observer
Tonight it’s a simple, easy hotdog barbecue using the bite left at the bottom of the bag of charcoal I really finished off last night. There was an unexpected bit of foam on the way to get the food tonight but that’s fine, it was beautiful, I had all four windows down, time to spare and enjoy the simple things in life like watching a short freight movement. There were three engines and about five cars moving down the line slowly. The hotdogs are for dinner and the sausages are to go into some pasta sauce later. Just perfect. Nice, easy to prepare food, a beautiful evening to end a relaxing day, just me and the cat in the back yard. F. U. COVID-19.

captaintrolley
SMOKED BRISKET poutine drizzled with some locally produced 'Get Sauced' brand of California Reaper Pepper hot sauce. The brisket was fresh hot-out-of-the-smoker. ♥ It was quite filling, I maybe had 1/4 of it. Saving the rest for supper. Poutine is not something I have regularly, so it is quite the treat. And I must say that the soft, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth brisket turned the dish from Super into SUPERB.
Wayside Observer
I decided to have fried eggs instead of my usual scrambled. Late lunch. I had a continental breakfast this morning as I was getting the pork picnic roast on to the smoker so I only got hungry now.

Wayside Observer
At long last. 12 hours after the pork went into the smoker, I’m digging into a pulled pork sandwich.
