Great news! So That's 2 buses repaired. Any word if any others are pending?

Also 2009 Orion 7.501 NG hybrids #4111, 4112, and #4115 are now at Gun Hill depot IIRC.

They are in Kingsbridge depot and not Gun Hill. I saw 4111, 4112 and 4115 move from Michael J Quill last night.

4115 was on the Bx3 earlier today. There's a picture floating around with this.

My mistake,  should have just said the Bronx division. Fun fact, all those units were delivered brand new to Yukon depot back in 2009 ( #4092-4139).

Add bus #7065 to the list of repair buses. Was seen in service somewhere the other day on SI.

Proof Please?.... Bus is still in the shop and bus has been tracking since 9/1/21.

So far saved is 7001 and 7064..

I can confirm that 8702, 8703 and 8714 are all at Yukon awaiting to be serviced and worked on...

i thought 7064 wasn't apart of flood buses? and it could seem most if not all buses that were flooded could be repairable though.

7065 saved confirm?

This was according to NYCT fourms, somewhere in the scrap section. Was #7064 even part of the flood damaged group of buses? Because I don't see that anywhere else.

Also 2006 Orion 7.501 OG hybrids #6711, #6743, and #6745 had their fareboxes removed and are now retired.

2006 Orion 7.501 OG hybrid #6771 retired from MCH depot. Farebox removed. How many 2006 OGs remain in Manhattan now anyway?

I'd also keep an eye open on Queens Village depot, because with the transfers of 2009 Orion 7.501 NG hybrids to them, more 2007 Orion 7.501 OG hybrids will be getting retired very shortly.

Saw this on the forums.

Nassau NICE bus 2041 is visiting the MTA's Zerega facility. I wonder if the MTA is taking a look at Gillig......

Is this real? I mean if it is, I'm not that surprised considering that MTA and NICE tend to copy each other's fleets going back to the MSBA days. Notice how NICE went with XE40s for their electric bus order instead of say, Novabus.

I thought that MTA would never buy from Gillig.  That demo in 2004/2005 was proof in its self. However, I guess new leadership and plus the current C40’s are about 10/11 years old.  They could last another 4/5 years. I think the tanks expire in 2025 at the earliest.

I was under the impression that A, the C40LFs would be tanked for 20 years  and B, the MTA was done with CNG bus purchases. The Orion 7.501 NG CNGs in Nassau are being phased out right now and they are only slightly older than the C40LFs. I believe those were tanked for about 18-20 years as well.

It works both ways - Gillig very purposely over the years avoided bidding on orders from the MTA and certain other larger agencies.  Perhaps that stance has changed.

MTA did but a fleet of Gillig Phantoms once back in the late 1980s for MTA Long Island Bus and tested a hybrid one for NYCTA in the mid-2000s. Since then, this 80- 165 Gillig Advantage BRT Plus CNG order is the first immediate NYC area order for Gillig in years and the second one for Nassau County.

Fleet numbers to be #2000-2164.
