JN HSR Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 I've seen some good photos around from the Nebo Road Scrap Yard (also referred to as the Nebo Road Trolley Bus Graveyard) but haven't been able to find it. It has several TTC and HSR buses and is on Nebo Rd in Hamilton, but I couldn't find it while driving around a few months ago. I thought I found it once when I discovered two old buses sitting in a lot, but it wasn't it. Anyone been there and can tell me where it is?

They've cleaned up that area into a steel distribution for the last few years.

Have you been to Future Enterprises scrap yard on Strathearne Ave?
JN HSR Posted August 14, 2007 Author Report Posted August 14, 2007 Ya it's gone. Have you been to Future Enterprises scrap yard on Strathearne Ave? No I haven't. It is north of Barton St E? Are there buses on the site? Open to the public?

I thought I found it once when I discovered two old buses sitting in a lot, but it wasn't it.Anyone been there and can tell me where it is?I've worked on that white mc-9!!was former go transit-its got their distinctive destination sign and bi-part front door.can ar picked it up and added the updated front end. they sold it to a private charter operator, I remember his last name...I remember it 'cause he still brought it back to can ar for servicing- I've replaced the a/c condenser motors, he had me turn around 2 pairs of seats to face eachother too.he also had the strangest spare tire behind the front bumper-it was a used tire and rim from an old ttc ikarus artic! still had the red paint!I'm not exactly sure that bus is scrap just yet. The bus motorhome next to is still has plates.but that was 6 years ago... I guess a lot has changed since then... I have not been there yet but Here's a Google map. I believe someone said they use buses as a fence at the front.I blundered across it once.It looked to me like they used a whole bunch of ttc d40-88s as their preimeter fence. I could still make out their #'s- I think they were 63xx'sthey were all pushed over on their sides though, roofs facing out.found an old ttc h-1 subway car being used as a storage shed in that neigbourhood too.(within sight of the harbour)
Wonka Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 The scrap yard is North of Burlington St., on the West side. You'll see a long row of TTC D40-88's and some D40-90's (tear). I doubt it's a good idea to just "wander on in there". Better to ask if you can. I didn't see any HSR buses when I went. A scrapyard near Sherman, North of Burlington street also had H series TTC subway cars sitting around about 2 years ago. They've since been removed. In fact, the entire scrapyard has been greatly reduced in size.

Seashore_518203 Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 I've seen some good photos around from the Nebo Road Scrap Yard (also referred to as the Nebo Road Trolley Bus Graveyard) but haven't been able to find it. Anyone been there and can tell me where it is? As other people have stated, the Future Enterprises location on Nebo Road is no longer around. The scrapyard used to be on the east side of Nebo, just south of Rymal Road. It has been closed for approximately 4-5 years and the last bus they ever scrapped there was Brampton Transit 8170. The other location (on Strathearne North) is still open, however with the high scrap metal cost these days, usually the buses are cut up almost as soon as they get them. Kevin
D. DeLarge Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Future Enterprises' line of ex TTC D40's, from a recent trip around the Hamilton area...
general682002 Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Future Enterprises' line of ex TTC D40's, from a recent trip around the Hamilton area... And those are all D40-87.
