School Bus 101

Recommended Posts

Also, back on the 17th of this month I noticed the following Corbeil International T444E's parked near the north yard with no plates. I am guessing these are the ones that were recently noted in an earlier post in this thread that were being moved out west from Ontario: #210120, 244290, 244550, and 244510. #244510 is seen at the rear of the image of #244550. Also, I do not know if these buses will be staying in the Calgary fleet or if they will be sent off to another First fleet in Alberta or not.

Those look very similar to the large amount that were in the First Student Ontario fleet but are starting to be replaced in the past few years. The Corbeil International T444E's were the main stay of the GTA fleet.

Got a picture of 2121 for the first time today and noticed that it received some work on it's side:

Notice the number font looks a bit different in my image from today. I believe this is the second oldest unit currently active, next to 2279. Does anyone know where it usually parks? It didn't have a Main/North yard sign on it's rear window.

I saw #2121 parked at the north yard that has the shops the other day.

I am actually amazed that this bus is still around!

Found the Ontario based Bluebird Buses that were mentioned earlier in this topic (http://www.cptdb.ca/...ndpost&p=590714)

Here is a picture of one of them:

DSC_0076.JPG

2 of the buses were numbered 206590 and 209930. All of the buses can be found in the by the North Yards. I also found 244560, a Corbeil similar to the ones posted above.

Also, 121226 has been repainted to school bus yellow, just like 121224. Many interesting units have appeared that are not usually seen in the North Yards, such as 2237, 201073, 2985, etc. There are some buses parked outside of the fenced lots (such as 1541).

Nice to see they made it out there! They have been slowly leaving over the last week and a half. As long as they all make it there, you should see 005(206550), 006(206560), 007(206570), 008(206580), 009(206590), 010(206600), 011(206610), 012(206620), 013(206630), 014(206640), 015(206650), 017(209930), 023(217670), 024(217680), & 025(217690), all are International 3800/Blue Bird buses. I don't think any of the King City branch Corbeil-bodied buses made it out there, as they weren't in the best shape.

Here's 010 from its service days in Ontario:

Only thing I didn't like about these was the lack of AM/FM radio and PA system, but they did have tilt steering!

All 3 of those, 2237, 201073, 2985 are at that yard every time I go by there.

Found a bunch of these this evening. All seem to be Blue Bird International T466E 72 passenger unit #'s 217670, 206600, 206580, 206620, 206650, 206560, 206590, 209930.

So apparently 1593 is based somewhere in Calgary. I do not recall seeing it before. Does anyone have an image of it or know where it is based?

It has been based in Calgary for years from what I recall. That bus used to be assigned to a friend of mine back in the early 2000's for awhile. I have seen it in recent years as well, but I never mentioned it as I thought it was already known that it was a Calgary unit. I don't recall where in Calgary it is based however.

Very nice pictures. Do those buses (1671, 3025, 3159) always park in that location? Also, I noticed 2820 next to 3233 in one of the images. Is there a picture of 2820? Where is 2848 parked? That looks like somewhere around Centre Street, but I am not sure.

1671, 3025, 3159 would not normally be there. They were there waiting to be taken into the tire shop that is over there. I will mark the locations for all these buses on the maps for each image. You are way off on the location for 2848.

BCT-3122-D800-10240, would you happen to have an image of the bus whose number ends with a 56 (I am assuming it is 210556)? I have been trying to find that bus for a while with no luck. The image doesn't have to be of great quality...

I am referring to this image:http://cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php?title=File:First_Student_Canada_2997-a.jpg
