  1. If there wasn't photo proof of 4604 entering service on the 17th we'd probably be hearing about how that's fake too.
  2. I want to know how you know this. TransSee vehicle history won't show you any random place the vehicle was at while not signed in, so are you saying you just so happened to be watching 7047, out of all possible units, on TranSee all day?
  3. 4604 was on a shift scheduled to run in after 2 am, but it seems to have crapped out, it was replaced by 4542 just before 9 am. Why would yesterday not have been its 'official' entry into service? What's more official than a dog and pony show? TransSee was down for much of the day, but every time I opened it successfully it reported that the data was current.
  4. 4604 ended up doing one round trip from Leslie Barns via King to Dundas West and back. Surprised they wouldn't at least leave it out for the duration of rush hour, but I assume few people got a chance to see it, so yay bragging rights...? Some pictures of it. Identical to the original 204, and I have no idea why they would do a press conference for it, but considering I managed to get all 204 cars of the original order, I welcomed a chance to get this one, too.
  5. It's not signed in, it's probably running as an extra. The data being 8 hours early (not old) seems to be a display issue on the once famed Sammdot tracker. On TransSee it shows the car reporting data normally.
  6. Perhaps some over zealous intern was a little too trigger happy and released this before it actually happened.
  7. From a passenger perspective, they are terrible. Probably the worst transit buses I have ever ridden on.
  8. TTC 7919 was being towed southbound on Kipling by the QEW just now by a Classic wrecker. Shortly before that, 8119 almost got a little too intimate with a truck on the 15. There is a section of Evans Avenue which is one land each direction just west of Queensway garage, with pylons dividing the lanes. A truck from the westbound lanes wanted to turn into a lot on the south side of the street and in doing so was traveling wrong way in the eastbound lanes. 8119 was traveling eastbound at full tilt until the driver braked at the absolute last second.
  9. And management's policy is what? Do I dare hope that they will acknowledge that drivers have to force their way through these lines of cars to keep transit moving and that this cop is nothing more but a power tripping tool?
  10. So "sit there and wait til kingdom come" is an official policy? No wonder no one in this city takes transit seriously. The King pilot was not nearly as radical as it ought to have been.
  11. Noticed all the Novas I rode today have a barrier over the farebox from the driver's side. Naughty, naughty!
  12. It was out from the fall of 2020 until January this year. I also assumed they were going by mileage accumulated. Refurbishing a bus theoretically 2 years earlier just to deal with an outlying paint scheme doesn't make a lot of sense. Also before anyone goes to find 8553 and finds themselves disappointed, the bus in question is 8552.
  13. 4460, 4464, 4521, and 4531 have returned to service.

  15. Bringing this thread back with a list of the current Flexity cars that have not run in a bit: 4409 (last seen July 25, 2023) 4413 (last seen Sep 12, 2023) 4422 (last seen Oct 18, 2023) 4425 (last seen Oct 17, 2023) 4429 (last seen Sep 17, 2023) 4430 (last seen Nov 2, 2023) 4442 (last seen Oct 23, 2023) 4451 (last seen Oct 29, 2023) 4455 (last seen Nov 2, 2023) 4460 (last seen Nov 1, 2023) 4462 (last seen Oct 24, 2023) 4464 (last seen Oct 30, 2023) 4468 (last seen December 30, 2022) 4471 (last seen August 7, 2018) 4474 (last seen Nov 1, 2023) 4475 (last seen June 26, 2023) 4478 (last seen August 7, 2018) 4484 (last seen Nov 1, 2023) 4492 (last seen Sep 24, 2023) 4506 (last seen Nov 3, 2023) 4521 (last seen Nov 1, 2023) 4531 (last seen Nov 3, 2023) 4534 (last seen January 19, 2023) 4568 (last seen July 26, 2022) 4574 (last seen Nov 1, 2023) 4585 (last seen Nov 2, 2023) 4587 (last seen Nov 3, 2023) 27 cars, or 13% of the fleet currently down. Some of these I assume are in for maintenance and will be rejoining service shortly... others may have quite a while to wait for their next day in the sun.
  16. 4604 was in the service lane at Leslie this weekend but it's appearance into service continues to be agonizingly slow 4605 is at Russell
  17. If that is the case then that is of course understandable, but at our store customer do not bag themselves unless it's self check out. Cashiers always bag the items here. It's not them grabbing their payment from their wallet either. As well, our pinpads allow a customer to view their entire purchase before it is rung up. Two other pet peeves: The vapidness of "how are you?" as a greeting. Unless you know the person, you're not gonna care what their answer is, but you still have to answer "good" even if you are the furthest thing from it. The customers who don't say anything are the most truthful ones, because they don't care about me, nor I about them. Stupidly placed QR codes (that no one will ever use) being placed too close to the barcode on a product. The worst example I had is a guy who was carrying a bag of shingles over his shoulder. I'm sure he was very happy with the delay caused by the scan gun catching the QR code instead of the barcode, all because some product designer couldn't see beyond the tip of their own nose. Also, heavy items that don't have barcodes on all sides.
  18. -Co-workers who "voluntell" you to assist a customer even though you are not ready to do so. The other day I had stepped away from my cash register into a corner to blow my nose, and some customers come up and my co-worker told them that I can help them out at my register. Are you kidding me? Can I not at least finish blowing my nose in peace? -Customers who don't pay attention to a purchase while it's being rung up, but then after they have paid they stand there painstakingly, insultingly checking their receipt. Bonus points if they discover there's something wrong, like a clearance item that scanned at full price. The best ones will head over to customer service to get their purchase adjusted; the worst ones will stand there and abuse you for not putting the discount through into the cash register, even though anyone with half a brain cell to rub together would be able to figure out that I have no means of knowing every single product in the store, and whether it's on clearance or not. If they paid attention and watched the screen as I was ringing them up, they would be able to notice the problem and bring it to my attention in time, but that would get in the way of standing around and scratching their ass while a nameless, faceless corporate automaton serves them. -anti theft devices that trigger things that beep. Apart from giving retail workers a raging headache, what is the point of this? -Related to above: self check outs that require you to step in and intervene when a customer attempts to scan through a tote box or bag, forcing you to check if there are items inside. Yeah, no, I am not going to be checking to see if someone is a thief or not, that is loss prevention's job. Pay LP to be in the house every day and stop making my life more difficult. -Self check out error messages that repeat themselves too frequently. At our store the message telling the customers someone will be with them momentarily sounds off at full volume every eight seconds. When you're stuck by yourself at the self check out, which is often, because corporate does not give a fig about worker welfare, and multiple people require assistance, by the time you've cleared all the errors you have a raging headache.
  19. There was a plan to convert as many as six pairs I believe, but it hasn't been made good on.
  20. The Toronto Public Library's website has been down for the last few days because of a cyber attack. I have a bunch of books on loan from there at the moment and had hoped to maximize efficiency and save on fuel by taking out new ones when I go return them, but this is already a shockingly long time for the site to be down, so I'm beginning to worry I'll have to return empty handed.
  21. This is at least the third time this has been brought up in this thread - 8011 is removed from passenger service, and has been converted to a temporary shelter bus. Thus, seeing it, and the rest of the airport buses converted to shelters (8005-8006, 8008-8013) on the road should not be irregular, if not exactly common.
  22. Thanks guys. To get it on its third last day isn't too bad, I think.
  23. Anyone have 1078's last day? I saw it last Monday, I wonder if there were other days or if that was it.
