Let's talk CIT Roussillon

But a 30' LFS would be heavy-duty, wouldn't it? Wouldn't it be more pricy than cutaways or medium-duty buses??

A 30 foot LFS would never work because of the wheel placement on the LFS model. As for the Classics, a 35 foot version was suppose to be manufactured, but the bidder backed out back in the day and that model TC35102N never saw the light of day..

Who was the bidder? A suburban operator like CIT Roussillon?

Can't remember, but I don't think the bidder was named. In any event, the model was never made.

due to no "Baby Classics" having been produced (apart from a TA mod).

Queen's Surface Transportation, NY #935 was cut down to 30' feet. It was a 1988 MCI Classic suburban.

It's still better than before, riding 9 or 10 or 11 year old coaches before with La Québécoise, now Transdev Limocar is a breath of fresh air. I wouldn't be too quick to comment.

Today I saw a new LFS on Georges-Gagné (too far to see the number from the 132), and unfortunately I think they only send cutaways to TCV off peak. But really, it is good enough for the demand right now. It's too bad.

Forget about the age, I'm talking about the fact that it is second-hand, why did Chartrand get rid of it?

Orleans dumps their coaches after 3-4 years.

Did I ever say it was worse than La QC?

Of course it is better!

If they send cutaways to TCV, well I don't really know what to think until I take a ride.

Apparently coaches see a lot of turnover compared to transit buses so this isn't terribly surprising news. I don't know why but if you say Orleans dumps their buses so soon, maybe those buses accumulate a lot of wear and tear and the clientele likes new buses, maybe Chartrand is the same. As for cutaway... think short school bus... ugh! I'm no fan of coaches but I'll take one anyday before I use a good ticket to ride that PIECE.

As for La Québécoise being all amateur and etc... prize for that prolly goes to Groupe Gaudreault and their fantastic bus fleet up there in Lanaudière... wowee wow wow... I saw one of their Onion Vs at Monty yesterday, it wasn't a sorry sight but it was far from impressive.

kellergraham and I will be at TCV Quai Sud from about 6:35 am to go to Georges-Gagné and fan some Roussillon there so anyone who wants to tag along is welcome. I'm going to bed... <_<

If anyone wants to ride some of the ex-CIT Roussillon junk buses like their RTS and TMCI Classics, hop on a Casino employee parking shuttle... one of these stupid buses still has CIT Roussillon scrambled on the flipdot destination board.

Hahaha...

But yes, the Casino shuttle is a great place to get a variety of buses, you could go everyday for a week, and not get the same bus twice!

Not only the employee shuttle, but also the 'outfield' gamblers lot.

To watch out for are some ex-USA units with numbers on their roofs! Any ideas on how to get those???

What's the best place to get Casino shuttle buses?

What's the best place to get Casino shuttle buses?

Most likely Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings... IIRC the shuttles are only called into service when the regular underground parking is full... To access it by transit, the nearest stop would probably be des Moulins Ouest / Pierre-Dupuy on the 168.

So that would be the first stop after you leave TCV corner St Jacques and University on the 168 right?

Is the regular parking lot usually filled on those days? How much percentage of a chance are we talking here?

I calculate seven stops after Saint-Jacques. Just ask the driver to announce Pierre-Dupuy.

To answer Matt's question, I think that La Quebecoise has a general idea of how many buses to put out depending on when it's busy. I know for a fact that the old buses are still located at the Delson division so it can theoretically be visited for outside pics.

Well, unless you know of a good corner or something, it's not too difficult to figure out.

I meant, try and get pics of the numbers on the roof!

Runs almost everyday during the summer, thank you tourists.

And, uh, thanks, but we are Montreal busfans, kind of insulting to tell us how to get somewhere...IMO.

I'd give it a 95% chance guarantee for FRI SAT and about 75% for other summer weekdays.

Saw two "odd" CIT Roussillon buses during PM rush today.

370228 2008 LFS on route 110, I believe this route is mainly served by coaches.

871050 2000 Prevost H3-45 on route 120. This bus is often used on the Montreal/Shebrooke route.

I saw 871(05)0 as well, at Georges-Gagné yesterday. Was very weird to see that one in the old Limocar Livery!

Sorry, I just thought some people wanted to know....

Hmm...I wont say anything about this yet, but I hope we don`t seeing coaches that are `not Roussilon`being used for service...

Okay, don`t worry about it.

To add to 871(05)0, 882(05)3 was parked at Georges-Gagné today. Probably on standby in case there were delays....
