Very odd.... Must be VERY tight legroom like those 66 passenger 11 row units in the 1307xx series C2's that First operates out of Calgary. Not sure if that makes sense to you. Not sure how else to word that.

TechSpotlight
First 2303 is now retired and converted into a mobile home of some sorts. Saw it parked at the Westhills shopping centre earlier this afternoon. School bus sign and 4-way red lights are still intact, but the stop sign has been removed.
School Bus 101
Just got word that First has lost ALL ~60 of its "Conseil Scolaire FrancoSud" (French schools) routes to Southland. As far as I know, that leaves First with only Strathcona-Tweedsmuir, a few Charter schools (3), and a handful of CSSD routes. Really doubting the long term survival of the Calgary branch at this point...

I will have to check the Calgary French school and Calgary Academy (since they are quite close to me) when the school year starts back up. Any more charter schools you can remember at the top of your head that used First last year?

The only other ones I can remember are Almadina (NE/SE), Calgary Girls' School (SW), and Edge School (Rockyview); the first two are confirmed to be First once again this year.

blue.bird.fan
My school used First Student for an orientation trip. I got KB075338 on the way back, an IC CE with a gasoline engine. Also, I spotted 200839, 091391, and 091379 on the same trip, and I haven't seen a Maxxforce 7 bus in a long time. I don't understand their new numbering system with letters and digits. Posting here because there's no First Student thread for Toronto.

First's new numbering system is actually the last few characters of the bus' VIN. In the case of the IC CE, the first digit of the fleet number is the model year of the bus, with the VIN letter coding system. "K" signifies that it is a 2019 model year. The second digit of the fleet number is the plant of manufacture. "B" signifies Tulsa, Oklahoma. The numbers that remain are simply the serial number of the bus.
